Tom's not a wrestler, but he has well timed takedowns that work really well against flat footed oponents, of which Gane is not.I know he didn't in the OP but did TS ever explain why Tom wouldn't grapple? Not looking over the whole thread...
Terrible things happen in MMA all the time. Gane winning would be one of them. I wouldn't be shocked, just disappointed.Aspinall’s a human highlight reel, but Gane’s slick footwork and technical game might just steal the show.
Picture Gane dancing around Ngannou’s bombs at UFC 270, landing crisp counters and kicks over five rounds—his heavyweight ballet could make Aspinall chase and test that unproven gas tank.
Tom’s has quick KOs over Pavlovich and Blaydes, plus a slick sub on Volkov , but he’s faced no one with Gane’s finesse. Gane was outstriking Volkov 146-106 and TKO’ing Lewis with surgical precision.
Aspinall’s never seen round 3 in 18 fights , while Gane’s gone 25 minutes against Ngannou and Volkov—can Tom keep up if Gane drags him to deep waters?
Seriously, if Gane avoids the early storm, he might outpoint or even finish a gassed Aspinall.
48-47 Gane, you heard it here first folks.
Aspinall is not even remotely comparable to Ngannou in terms of style and skills. Evading Ngannou on the feet is roughly infinitely more easy than evading Aspinall, especially if you're fighting Aspinall after totally fucking up your foot. Ngannou is slow both in terms of footwork and striking speed; Aspinall really, really isn't.Aspinall’s a human highlight reel, but Gane’s slick footwork and technical game might just steal the show.

Ok. I could see you betting against Tom's cardio simply because it is unknown as he's never gone past round 2 (in the UFC).Tom's not a wrestler, but he has well timed takedowns that work really well against flat footed oponents, of which Gane is not.
A failed takedown in the heavier divisions can basically cost you the fight, unless the takedown is used to finish the fight.
I am predicting Tom will get a take down, but I dont think he will finish Gane after it, I dont belive in Tom's cardio - he is simply way too big and explosive in his movements.
Doesn't change anything I said... I didn't even mention Tom's name. You posted that he sucks in a thread about Gane vs Aspinall you inbred idiot.![]()
Yeh, I like it when things i follow are objectively more shit than they used to beI personally hope he wins, and I don’t like Gane.
It would leave the UFC in the worst timeline![]()
It’s already shit, I’ve accepted it as shit, I still watch the shit. Some men just want to see the world covered in shit.Yeh, I like it when things i follow are objectively more shit than they used to be
You are absolutely crusing to a win when you get hit with a flash knockdown, bounce right back up, hurt the other guy, win the round, unanimously, and land 3.5X the number of strikes as the other guy before you brutally KO him.You arent "cruising to a win" when you were almost stopped, stop being a douche
Why would I need to have an excuse for anything? Not sure why you think Volkov has anything to do with the stupidity of claiming that he "almost" lost to Tuivasa, a fight which he completely dominated. And whats your excuse for the awful decision that he managed to get over Volkov?

Tuivasa didn't almost stop Gane. He got a knockdown, which, since this is MMA and not boxing, is just another strike to be judged by how much damage it did and whether it effectively set anything else up. Gane got right back up but was slightly dazed and clearly exhibited diminished defensive capacity, so it was a good strike, the kind that would be enough to clearly win the round on its own if the rest of the round had been too close to call. That said, Tuivasa did a very poor job on follow up, landing a couple of additional decent strikes but not chaining anything together or landing anything that put Gane in significant danger of being stopped before Gane fully recovered and deilvered some more effective damage of his own.You arent "cruising to a win" when you were almost stopped, stop being a douche

I'm not here claiming that Gane is some kind of invincible juggernaut. That's Aspinall and his Sherbro fans, who are mostly on his bandwagon because of him being next up in the endless line of people who were supposed to expose Jones (Gane was once one of them).
In the HW division, he's one of the current elite fighters, which usually only numbers two or three people, for that weight division.
I'm not one of the morons who thinks quality is a binary measurement that only includes "invincible and perfect" and "totally blows."

Take your own advice about being a douche.

Are you retarded?
Retarded and illiterate confirmed.

I think people dismissing Gane do so more to delegitimize Jones as a HW champ. If Jones hadn't man-handled him so easily on the way to a win, they'd still be talking about him like they did before their fight. I seem to remember predictions that he'd expose Jones.
No one could beat him until Ngannou did it, because his striking was that much better than everyone else, and even Francis chose to go for the wrestle-fuck decision path rather than stand and trade with him, which I thought was telling and somewhat remarkable.
He's very good. So is Aspinall. Aspinall has more ways to win, so I'd have to say he's favored. If Gane can keep it on the feet, mostly in the middle of the cage, and can keep it at distance, that's his path to winning.
