Tech Gaming Hardware discussion (& Hardware Sales) thread

I just got my first ever pre-built system - I was waiting for the 3950x to drop, but I got a crazy good deal on a 3900x from Cyber Power:

3900x
16Gig 3200mhz memory
5700xt
1TB NVME SSD
800W Gold PS

All for $2000 CAD - I couldn't build a system cheaper going the DIY method. Once you factor in the Windows license and misc addons (keyboard, mouse etc.) I saved $400. While I am normally against pre buids, Cyberpower uses all brand name components: Asus x570 motherboard, Inwin Case etc.

I added another 32G of ram, 2TB SSD and swapped my 2080 for the 5700xt.

I now have:
3900x system @4.25ghz all core
Delidded 7820x @5ghz
4960x @ 4.6ghz
4770k @4.4ghz
x5660 @stock (I used to be able to get 4.6ghz out of it, but I think the motherboard is dying)
8750h laptop
6700HQ laptop
5700HQ laptop
Surface 4 pro
Random assortment of tablets

Realistically, I only use two of these computers, but something about having my office jammed full of hardware makes me happy. It's what the nerdy teenage me dreamed of, and I finally have the money to do it.

Inwin 101 Mid Tower. Beautiful mid tower case, particularly when paired with RGB fans (if your into that type of stuff). Only drawback is that you can't mount a 240mm AIO in either the top or back of the case. Your stuck replacing the front fans if you want to use a larger water cooler. It's definitely a change of pace from my E-ATX Rosewill Thor v2 that I am using with my 7820x.

Did they route the bottom to the cables behind the motherboard (A) or the hole to the right of the motherboard(B)?

When I was looking for cases, the 101 was on my list but I a lot of reviewers talked about how the hole behind the motherboard was useless and I didn't like the look of the cables strung to the right.
 
Based on the pic, opening A. Their appears to be a shroud covering the PS area and opening B, and as far as I can tell, there is nothing routed behind there. However, the setup is super clean - just the PCI-E 8+6 is going through there. All HD are being mounted at the back of the case.
 
Remember Magic Leap? Apparently J.P. Morgan Chase taken over the patents. So now there is a letter assigned that gives JP Morgan Chase control over the patents not good.

Looks like the 3950X won't improve on the 3900X's gaming performance. The 4.7 GHz turbo was too pie-in-the-sky. It can't even sustain 4.6 GHz for a single core as a turbo boost for more than tiny peaks. Everything above the 3900X is-- due to value-- a hybrid processor more appealing to streamers and editors (who also game, and don't require quad channel memory).

The 3700X remains the no-brainer choice for the (near) highest level of gaming performance on the market.
 
 
Hmm, so I read some posts earlier in this thread. I'm trying to choose between the RTX 2070 and the 2060 Super. The 2060 will be more expensive since I can buy the 2070 used. the benchmarks I've see still have the 2070 as slightly faster. Anybody with more knowledge want to persuade me one way or the other?

Well the deal in particular I'm looking at is a refurbished gigabyte 2070 for 300. I see 2060 supers for 400 on newegg. I may get my cousin to hook me up with a discount price at best buy tomorrow though.

Assuming that the 2060 super and 2070 were the same price, which would you prefer?

RTX 2070 is slightly superior.
