I like fast boot times because sometimes I have to reboot and I want it done quickly. Especially if I'm in a ranked game and need to reconnect ASAP. I get a small ass drive though cause I don't really put anything but windows on it.

the way i see it, it would save me ~30 seconds/day, and it's usually moot via letting my comp boot while i take a piss.

but chances are that i'll go all ssd with my next build and just use an external hdd to dump shit to once in a while.

Honestly I'm the same way I don't really care that much either. SSD's are just so cheap now that I just went ahead and did it. Like I said though I got a small drive (120GB) since my gaming PC is just a gaming PC it doesn't do anything else.

People say in the reviews it has it. I don't know if it's on I'll check today. I'm not having any screen tearing issues though.

tl;dr:
@ 4k 6800xt reportedly beat 3080 at 5 games, lost at 3, and they tied at 2.
@ 1440, the 6800xt allegedly won 8/10
amd's benched way better at firestrike, nvidia's benched way better with ray tracing (port royal 4k), and their timespy scores are close

the event is only 3 days away. so anyone looking at 3080 pre-orders and etc might want to wait a few days before jumping one way or the other.

Take this with a grain of salt but it looks good for AMD for now. That could change really soon apparently Intel getting ready to announce something big.

First number is single thread the last is multi-thread. That being said AMD always had a bit of an advantage multithreaded but now single looks good. But Intel has now hinted some big announcements coming.

You may experience flickering issues. They tend to show up in some game menus (ex. Halo: Master Chief Collection). Tends to be an issue at lower fps when games drop into the sub-60 zone.

Mine (Acer XG27OHU) will start flickering below 30fps but I'll lower settings before I let my frames dip that low.

It's also showing benchmarks for AMD cpu's that aren't out yet either

i didn't check the guy's other vids, so you may be right. it sure looks that way, with the CPUs that he shouldn't have yet. the specs from the vid seem in line with some of the leaks, though. without the variance (ie: nvidia should have split some of the 1440, as per the rumour... and they all seemed too tightly in range of ~3-5 fps difference to the upside)

amd's morning surprise has shit in chaos.

i figure we should know more tomorrow, regardless.

It amazes me just how many videos there are on YouTube of guys just peddling in rumours about this kind of stuff. One in particular that bothers me in the Moore’s Law is Dead guy. All he’s doing is just spouting off shit from forums while talking about his nameless sources, and then when one of his rumours turns out to be true he goes on for two minutes “well I said this was going to happen”. I hate the guy’s smug face.
