i think the show is gonna age better once the shippers/fanfic writers get a hold of themselves

with that said i think the right things happened for the most part even if some of the execution was pretty mediocre

still with how these last few seasons have been GOT isnt anywhere near a GOAT level show and thats okay. Still a fun ride.

Hopefully Euron does some crazy shit in the books to lead up to the ending with all of whats been built up for him
I agree

But this could have been an all time great show

It's not. It'll just be seen as a very good one when you factor in all the seasons

A vengeful character doesn't have to lose reason entirely.

I mean I think if you look at the show in fine detail yes you can pick logical holes in it but that's always been the case, its never been some ultra realistic depiction of fantasy even if it does have some realistic elements to it.
That's why my beef here is with the writers not following their own logic. The logic they set up, the logic they expect you to follow. The characters behavior they created and set up. That's why i think this entire season was a waste of time and money. D&D just kinda ended it because they said they would end it. The finale didn't bring anything new or shocking or ground breaking. It was telegraphed a mile a way.

I'm glad it's all over, getting really tired of reading/hearing about GOT. Get a life people, go out get some vitamin D

Peter dinklage gets my vote for best actor consistently throughout the show

Agreed, that's just trash writing though.

The Iron Islanders kneeling to a cripple?

Dorne, the most independent of all the kingdoms, who didn't kneel until 100 years after everyone else, only through marriage, are going to, but the North won't?

It felt like a fan service moment. Happy for her, happy the Starks have their independence, it just felt unearned.
Yeah and Jon Snow the king in the North did the dirty work and got re exiled for the north to get its independence. Sansa used him as a pawn since they reunited in season 6. He’s still my king from this day until his last day.

One of many stories better than Brans: Gendry (copied from wiki)

"Lord Gendry Baratheon is a skilled blacksmith, a legitimized bastard son of King Robert Baratheon, and the Lord of Storm's End. After escaping the massacre of Robert's other bastards in King's Landing, Gendry is slated to join the Night's Watch before being captured and traded multiple times - first to Tywin Lannister at Harrenhal, then to the Brotherhood Without Banners, and finally to Stannis Baratheon on Dragonstone. After escaping from Dragonstone with the help of Ser Davos Seaworth, Gendry returns to King's Landing and remains in hiding until Davos returns for him. He later accompanies Jon Snow north of the Wall on a mission to capture a wight to use as a bargaining chip at the Dragonpit Summit, before joining the ranks of Daenerys Targaryen's army at Winterfell.

With the death of King Robert, the massacre of his other bastards, the deaths of Robert's brothers Renly and Stannis, as well as Stannis's daughter Shireen, Gendry is the last known living person of the Baratheon bloodline. Queen Daenerys Targaryen legitimizes Gendry following the Battle of Ice and Fire, making him the head of the revived House Baratheon."

I'm not sure I get what your saying here? I think they setup the idea that Dany attacking Euron at that moment would be dangerous, I mean you can say why didn't she attack in the way she did in the finale I spose but I think that's a certain degree of artistic licence on a subject the show has not played up as highly logical, maybe she thought about the best way to attack in the meantime? maybe she was even more vengeful?

As far as Cersei goes that situation was under parlay, similar to say Stannis meeting Renley and neither attacking the other dispite being willing to, its a medieval convention akin to the idea of not killing a guest and breaking it publically is a very large faux pas. Added to that of coruse Drogon is present and if Dany is killed the chances he attacks are high, at that point Cersei is hoping to avoid a direct attack.

I think a big issue really with pointing out plotholes is does the film/show in question put important on logic in that area? I mean something like the Resistance politics in Last Jedi for example I think the film does put importance on the idea of Holdo's plan, that she keeps her mouth shut about it even as Poe is staging a mutiny makes no sense.

You could point out that time and again armies in Game of Thrones get caught out by "supprise charges" when really they should have scouts to warn them but my counter would be the show has never looked to present its battles as ultra realistic. Battles have a tactical side to them but its not focused on to the nth degree.

How long can Daario and the Second Cans hold off Meereen from the Wise Masters of Yunkai? His head is probably hanging on some pole.

You guys need to wake up. The detractors are not the minority, so stop pretending like that's the case. The last episode has an average rating of 1.5 out of 10 on IMDb.

Because raging nerds immediately swarm iMDB when an episode they didn't like airs. Regular people don't make rating a show their first priority. The opposite is also true, with certain shows hitting close to a 10.0 or slightly below within an hour of airing, and gradually coming down. The early ratings are almost always the most extreme.

The episode has crawled back to a 5.0 rating, and will continue to improve with time.

Personally, I thought it was around a 7.

Best actors

Cersei
Tyrion
Jaimie
Tywin

The casting for the Lannisters and their performances were phenomenal. Charisma machines.
