No. That is not how this works.

What is important was the break down of the seats in play.

For instance if Dems have 10 seats in play and Republicans only have 2 in play in the election and 2 Dem seats go Republican and 2 Republican seats go Dem, that is very bad for the Republicans. 100% of the seats they control flipped whereas only 20% of Dem seats did.

The Republicans only had a small number of seats at risk comparatively and yet they lost a big percentage. If that carries into the General Election where the Republicans have the bulk of seats at risk that wave we saw in the midterms will cripple the Republicans.

Something tells me we're still going to be talking about "when will they release the report" a month from now. This isn't going away anytime soon until Barr surprises everyone and releases a large report. It's sort of ridiculous, but the best way for this to go away or at least calm down is to have good and bad things for both the nutters on the far right and nutters on the far left.
