Media Gaethje predicts knockout over Topuria @ Whitehouse

He is probably going to be +350, its going to be a KO, i doubt its Topuria.

Paddy was tagging Justin repeatedly with that ridiculous weak slapping right hand.

If can do that, then surely Topuria will be able to tag him, and it only takes 1.

justin has folded bigtime every time he fought for the real title (that wasnt an interm belt)

And when Topuria inevitably gets the KO, you'll have people downplaying the win by saying that Justin was washed.

It's just amazing how many huge upsets we've all seen in this sport and here we have a ton of fans acting like a guy that's 27-5 with 20 KOs has no chance in a fight. Yeah, Ilia is gonna be a big favorite for a reason. But anyone that thinks Gaethje can't sleep this dude is way more delusional than Gaethje is for saying that he can. Watch combat sports for decades and you'll get humbled your predictions.

I'd say there is a big difference between what I want to happen, and what will happen. Would love to see JG win, but that means I have to count on Justin having a high fight IQ.

Hopefully Justin doesn't realize he's hurt when Topuria tees off on him, and Justin can push Ilia to the later rounds. I doubt it goes past the second round if JG chooses to brawl early. If he can keep his ego in check and not try to out-strike the striker, I think JG can pull off the upset.

If I were JG, I'd work the low kicks early and often while hunting for a takedown. Justin has to get the fight to the ground via however he can, and then fight heavy on top in the early rounds. If he can make Ilia carry his weight for the first 5-10 minutes, his odds of winning increase a lot in my opinion. JG's been fighting at LW basically his entire career, he comes to bang, and if he can get Ilia tired before turning it into a late brawl I think he can do it.

Pretty confident Ilia wins but it's definitely worth betting on JG though.

His hands are but Justin is a kickboxer and has more ways to win.

He has the great equalizer which is kicks. One good leg kick and Topuria's mobility is gone. One good head kick and it's lights out, we've seen Toppy eat one and Justin give them. Justin also has great uppercuts which are sneaky. Lots of ways to end Topurias's night and Ilia eats a lot of shots. Any big fight with Justin is a pick em.

counterpunching is also a great way to deter kicking, and guess what Topuria is good at...

i could sleep Topuria too, if he just stood still with his eyes closed. what's your point? it's not that nobody thinks Gaethje couldn't knock him out if he lands the right one, it's that the chances of him landing the right one is VERY LOW. he couldn't even land the right one on Paddy, who literally stood there with his chin out for him to punch. he got completely destroyed by Max who was in turn destroyed by Ilia. the evidence is pointing to Ilia blowing him away.

Ilia is sleeping Justin faster than Charles. Arman is his only threat at 155.

Make the once in a generation Ilia vs Islam fight at 160.

I would like to see Justin bringin his low kick game in the fight. No way he wins on hands, but with low kicks he have a chance.

First round KO for Topuria so long as he's regained his mental focus from the recent breakup/family stuff. We'll see how much that played on his motivation.

Stylistically, he's the perfect guy to expose all the massive holes in Justin's punching technique.
Justin takes hits to give hits. He takes a lot of them. . . he's old and has tons of mileage. IMO Topuria, who personally I can't stand, is an absolute nightmare matchup for Justin. Just for spiciness and to mix things up and get the belladonna Topuria to either get more active or just. . . leave already, I wouldn't mind Justin (whom I don't like either) to get the W, and then retire himself, as he's a federal offense-level rankings squatter.
