Elections GA already did two audits!!! RHEEEEE

What a parochial mindset. I've lived as a student and as a transient worker, how long should I have to be in a place before being allowed to participate in democracy?

The issue isn't in double voting, but why should someone lose their rights because they moved house?

I think I made the point quite clear that no one is losing their rights. They are still free to vote in the local election for which they claim residency.

It's really a simple concept, if you want to vote in Montgomery County then register your vehicle here and pay the taxes you owe to Montgomery County. If you want to claim you live in Virginia Beach, Wv, or NC to avoid paying local taxes then go vote in their (your real) local election.

What a bunch of bull shit. You can live here for 4 years but you don't have any say in your local elections. We should be encouraging our kids to go vote, not trying to suppress voters.
Who ever would have thought in the year 2021 we'd still be fighting voter suppression.

Again, if you/they live hear then why are they paying personal property taxes to other counties and states?

There's no voter suppression; the fact is that the students want to avoid taxes by claiming to live in another area while simultaneously wanting to vote in local elections that claim to not live in.

To wit, you can't have your cake and eat it to. Pony up or shut up and vote in the locality you claim you live in for tax purposes.

@LangfordBarrow I would think that you could see jefferz argument fails at critically thinking about what voter suppression is instead of liking a post appealing to heart strings over reason.

I don't know that it's voter suppression per se but people should be able to vote where they live. It's not like they're voting twice. Their official residence might be with their parents for medical coverage or whatever reason. What percentage of college kids even pay taxes? And if they do have a job locally isn't it the city and state they work in that collects taxes?

The right to vote is even more intrinsic than the second amendment and shouldn't be infringed upon. And if you're going to create laws to combat fraud you should prove that there's any fraud to begin with and not just because you're unhappy at the results of the election and want to tamp out every perceived disadvantage to your party.

Ummm, maybe don't post a study where the author (a democrat get out the vote group) states "Project Vote takes no responsibility for errors or omissions"

But a follow-up study suggests the findings in the original were bunk. According to researchers at Stanford, Yale, and the University of Pennsylvania, the original study was based on surveys of voters that are extremely unreliable — skewing the results. On top of that, several calculation errors led to even more problems. When the errors are corrected, the follow-up researchers found, there’s no evidence in the analyzed data that voter ID laws have a statistically significant impact on voter turnout.

The new study suggests voter ID laws have little to no impact on minority voter turnout

The way TS is taking this landslide loss might be even more embarrassing than @Starman . At least @Starman was always a complete joke who nobody took seriously. Many used to see TS as one of the less insane Trump nutjobs. Every day since the election has been a bizarre downward spiral that gets more pathetic with every delusional post.

i for one enjoy watching him spiral out of control.

You dont have to live at home to be on your parents insurance. As far as taxes go , it's the personal property taxes and vehicle registration that is the issue. $20 for a sticker and anywhere from 100- 350 for taxes on the vehicle is lost because the kids claim to live somewhere else.

Multiply that by just 5,000 students at Tech (they have 30,000 students) and you're looking at 750k. That's a pretty sizable chunk for a small college town.

This has nothing to do with being unhappy with the result of an election and everything to do with paying your fair share. That million+ that isnt being collected is made up for by raising tax rates on the rest of us - and its easy to vote for measures that you aren't paying for.

It seems to me the problem is that 30 thousand "outsiders" voting could sway an election in a direction the incumbents wouldn't like. Come to town and pay tuition but unless you register your car here you can't participate in our elections... <36>

How about being just a small no college town. Do you think the residents would be better off?

Colleges are tax exempt so on top of the loss of real estate tax on property they acquire, none of those funds go toward infrastructure upgrades that are required to accommodate the influx of students and fans on game day.

How about they just vote in the locality that they pay taxes to and claim to live in? And I for one could do without the traffic, so yes it would be better for me to be a no college town..

So, an election handled by republicans, is missing absentee ballots which are consistently cast for democrats.......

And this is THE one!!!!!!

Yep, all this shows is that there was voting fraud: by the GOP to give trump an advantage.

I never posted much about Trump until after the election

Isn't trump going on tour with Bill OReilly?

Can he do that and be reinstalled as president?

There are a lot of these studies. I just typed "voter id race" into google (which you could do) and posted the first one. Also you're moving the goalposts now. The original post I replied to you said you just wanted to see the stats for blacks having id less often but now you want something saying that they have some impact on voter turnout.

Fucking O'Reilly is on WABC in NY now, still acting like a sanctimonious prick. How he still has a career after his shenanigans got exposed is a testament to the power the right-wing grift game has on rubes.
