Fury and Wilder made 25x more than all ufc 270 fighter combined

The fact Bud Crawford is making twenty times more than Ngannou is just beyond embarrassing for the UFC and their fans for even supporting it, or at minimum being silent on it.

You know, not every fighter (lol particularly mediocre ones) needs nor should be making tens of millions per fight. Same with footballers, basketball players, baseball players, etc.,
If getting half, one, or two million per fight "isn't enough", then it's your lifestyle that's the problem. Fight more often, save your money, and you'll have literal millions. If you want more, go cry a river, start a business, move to the US, and vote republican.

Don't know how I'll sleep at night knowing UFC fighters got paid 5 million when they should've been paid 10 million. Oh no, this just really sucks. Us here on sherdog are millionaires who want fighters to get paid like we do!
Someone posted some pay scale the UFC allegedly uses, looks like they would need to sell millions to get paid 5 million, i guess not everyone its on the same deal, but the one posted as the basic PPV points deal wasnt great, no way someone makes 5 million with that.

I agree, but at the top end they should be. Many athletes in general get paid entirely too much and as a culture we should glorify things like science, teaching, medical, healing cancer, etc vs playing with a ball. That being said, it is even more pathetic that fat cats like Dana and Don King are able to make untold millions while giving out pennies on the dollar for fighters getting CTE. Many of these guys have no other options pat fighting, and what they make is all they make their whole life, so the lump sum may seem like alot but in actuality it is peanuts spread out.

Just talk to Sherdog's own Tim Witherspooon about this: dude won the boxing heavyweight championship of the world vs Frank Bruno in Wembley stadium and got paid only 90K!

From Jones’ own mouth he makes $5M per fight. He has never even sold 900K ppv, and his usual number is more like 600K.

Yeah that number makes sense actually, this is what i remember being posted and someone posted it more recently but i couldnt find it, and actually someone responded to this post with the same comment about Jones, which i could believe to be true, so the "basic" deal is either not impressive or thats simply wrong information and they get paid a lot more per buy, just not boxing level money.

I believe both Adesanya and Figueirdo got points on PPV buys, the question is at this point did Nate get points.

Buys are ESTIMATED to be around 600K.

If we go by the old points contract, it's $1.00 for every PPV sold between 200,000 and 400,000 buys, between 400,000 and 600,000 is $2.00 each and buys sold over 600,000 are $2.50 each.

Adesanya = 500,000 + (1 x 200,000) + (2 x 200,000) = $1.1M

Anyone care to correct this?

All well said. And I'd add that of all athletes, ones in individual, combat/high injury/CTE-inducing sports should get the most bang for their buck, but those sports are also some of the most shady regarding business and ownerships.

One main event fight in boxing will make Ngannou more money than he will ever make in the UFC.
Here's the proof this says it all. Let the UFC SHILLS try to spin this.

UFC is like a communist organization. Workers pooling resources for the good of their caretakers.

if you don’t like it....off to the gulag you go!

while boxing promoters be like:

The boxing match had drama the ufc one wasnt really exciting

Does that guy know that they're 2 separate events? He picked the biggest boxing card of the year that still ended up losing money from overpaying the fighters.

Operations, broadcasting, partners all are different. Context is great when comparing apples and oranges. But being simple must feel great.

But no matter what the PPV numbers are, the fighters are still only getting like a dollar or two for every PPV. No matter how you cut it, the UFC fighter pay structure is atrocious. the company already has a valuation of 10 billion, so this "we have to pay the fighters shit to grow the company" is fake news. Plus, just look at Jake Paul: you can sell fights without having to reinvest 80% of the profits. Reality = Dana and wme just greedy. Dana blows more on blackjack and hookers every night than Gane and Ngannou will make combined - that is a Marie "let them eat cake" Antoinette type wealth disparity.

If the margins are that large and there is far more room to pay fighters a then it would be straight forward for competitions to grow and eat into the UFC market share by doing exactly that.

It doesn’t happen because the margins aren’t as big as is made out.
