Fuji BJJ Gi Review

my fuji gi jus arrived! thanks for all the great reviews.. this is my first gi the only problem i have with it is i dont really like the red embroidery on it(i got the black one)... any tips on where to sew the patches on?
 
I just ordered an A3, but judging from the pics, I'm definately going to neen to shrink it. Any suggestions on the best way to go about that?
 
Awesome reviews... How long are the sleeves on an A3? I have long arms--my A3 Atama #5 and Keiko Raca sleeves are the perfect length, but I know a lot of gis are much shorter than those. Any chance someone could quickly measure sleeve to sleeve across the back and lapel to sleeve?

wash in cold water. will still shrink a little.
to shrink more wash in hot water. try it on. if still need to shrink it a little bit put in dryer and try it on every ten minutes or so. If you need to shrink it a couple of inches you prob can run a full cycle without checking. So basically, to maximize shrinkage wash in hot and dry on high heat. to minimize shrinkage, wash in cold and hang dry.

Ok, I will addmit that I stopped reading posts at page 27. I am definitly getting the Fuji. My first gi and I am a newby. 6'1" and 235 lbs. stocky with broad thick shoulders and big thighs. I have no idea on size. Everyone else on here seems to be 508-5-11 and under 200. Anyone else my size try A4 or A5. I am right on the border of both (according to sizing chart). Also, I want black. However, I do not want to be disrespectful (I am a newby). Anyone train at team quest in Gresham? That is where I am looking to start.
 
For the record I just got a blue fuji.

6' 205 34" waist 34" inseam 52" sholders 18" neck 35" sleeve length

I bought the A4 and the top is spot on after a quick cold wash. The pants are too long after the wash and 30min in the dyer. But they did shrink about 1 1/2 in length. Got another 1 or 1 1/2 to go. Fit in the hips is a hair loose but not bad.
 
Is there a difference between Fuji Victory gi or Fuji single weave gi? Or is it the same gi but some vendors uses the two interchangably ?
 
Single and Victory are the same, I ordered a single got one labeled victory which is a single weave. Nice collar though.

i just ordered this gi online in an A4. I'm 5'11 250lbs with a 40inch waist. did i order the right size?
hope so because i ordered it from Budovids and i'm in Australia.

Just go by their measurements. Also keep in mind that the Fuji gi shrinks a lot. Based on what I read on this review.
 
I'm 6'1 and I stay about 175-190

I am thinking a-4 due to the fact I end up using the dryer quite a bit and my last GI shrunk a ridiculous amount and now looks like a childs GI, so I would rather it be to big than like now not big enough.

Yeah i'll keep the shrinkage factor in mind nickyrr. but their measurments means i'm a a4 height and a5 weight. which one is more important?

The sizes are different but use the table down the bottom. I'll go with the weight since you can't get a smaller gi with a wider body. From what I heard (I just heard, I haven't really tested it myself so your on your own here) the height is what shrinks the most. Plus you can always get it hemmed if you need it. But you can't add width.
The seller ebay user name is reedj2006, he ships from Canada but his price is reasonable. I ordered 2 for 60 a piece, even comes with a belt.
 
I was actually looking at the Fuji's on ebay as well... but I believe those are the Judo Gi's based on the pics.

Just ordered 2 Fuji Victory from Hatashitasports. I'm 5'9 160lbs and order A3's after talking to them (and based on all the info in this forum)

my Fuji arrived. it's too big. mainly sleave length is the problem. gave it a cold quick 30min mashine wash then spin dry on delicate and checked it every 5 mins about 5 times. it shrunk a little but no where near enough.
Should i now warm wash for quick 30 or cold wash and spin dry on hot?

Just ordered an A4 (rather it shrink to fit than shrink to illegal size like my last GI), excited and will review when it gets in!
 
I have a size A3 and it was kinda big out of the bag for me too. The sleeve was covering half of my fingers before many cold washes and 30 min medium heat dry then hang dry. Now they are almost to my wrist but I still want them to be shorter. I would say you will have very good control of how much you would want these gis to Shrink. I once dry them for the full 60 min under medium heat and it did not over shrink. So dry away!
