Which MMA promotion/organization do you think Ngannou will sign with?

I doubt any boxing promoter will be offering any significant money to promote a boxing match vs a pfl fighter or pfl champion. Francis fumbled the bag big time.

"As far as I know, PFL are the only ones left"

- Chael Sonnen

I grew up/lived outside of Dallas from the early 80s to early 90s. I had to google Jerry Jones due to having no idea who that person is.

I've lived all over the country. That part isn't the best, but not even close to "one of the shittiest". I'm more inclined to believe the "nasty chromosome-missing people" are the ones who watch ball chasing.
Deep Ellum is aight.
I have food-comaed at Terry Blacks more than once

Stop playing it down, in Francis's defense you know he's not just a future "PFL champion", he left while still being the UFC Champion. Shit like this is why I can't stand this place sometimes, so much demeaning everyone.

You're telling me that the UFC wasn't going to pay a former champion like they do a current champion???

Shocking.

That's not the point.

The point is that all the people who think Francis turned down 'so much money' by leaving seem to forget that it would become 'way less money' if he loses...but then he would still be locked in long-term.

says the guy with the location of three real dumps of this nation and i live in one of them

Ah yes, the Bay Area, one of the most innovative and economically productive (as well as desirable) places in the world. Real "dump".

There's a lot of people who think Jones ducked

When he's the only one who signed the contract

You smooth brained motherfuckers lmao
FR People talking about Jones ducked when he came out and handled Gane like he still had a blunt burning backstage. As soon as someone wins a big fight, everyone always knew they would win and the guy that lost is a can. It's wild. But a LOT of people thought Gane was gonna beat the shit out of Jones. If by some miracle Francis actually came back and Jones beat him too, he probably still wouldn't get credit.

Jones waited 3 years for Ngannou to leave and pounced on the opportunity to beat an inexperienced fighter with no wrestling defense.
Sure that's the take NOW after Jones made it look easy. A lot of people thought Gane would win prior.

Francis is the smartest mma negotiater. Is boxing fury next. Ask him.

Insert the troll meme. Fury has a troll meme t shirt for him.

Some of you fuckers are way to tied up in what these fighters salaries are. Who fucking cares. I just like to watch the fights.

We don't know the actual offer but going off Francis last pay cheque from the Gane fight which was $500k with no win bonus. He was grossly underpaid and I don't blame him for testing free agency.

not to worry fellas. Francis still has avenues left to prospect as there's a solid chance he could negotiate himself onto the board of directors for fine promotions like Rough n' Rowdy or the coveted BackYard Brawls.

I think that Jones was an opportunistic sociopath as always and Ngannou had a serious miscalculation on what he could actually get done for other fighters. The real villain in this situation is Dana and the UFC playing everyone like fiddles.

...and some food for thought:

I feel like there are some odd takes here. While the UFC has doubled its revenue it hasn't done by having more successful PPV's, Brock's PPV's sold more than anything the UFC is currently doing. The UFC doubled its revenue by being volume, DWCS, TUF, Fight Pass buying all the regional rights and shitloads of event. I doubt a Francis PPV now is more profitable than a Brock one was then. The Brock ones didn't even need marketing.

Brock is easily top 3 star of all time in UFC (along with Conor and Rhonda). Francis isn't even close to that popular.

Like all combat sports if you lose it often hurts your pay. I can't imagine the PFL paying Francis the same if he loses the first fight. Loads of his value will be gone if he can't win in the PFL.

If the PFL pays more than UFC I doubt they make their investment back on Francis fights. It would be a loss leader with the hope it raises the PFL profile. I don't think Francis is a great promoter and is pretty boring/whine master.

+ PPV points which was likely the majority of his pay.

You got balls. I thought of posting something like this when I first heard. Then thought better of it. I was actually thinking of it from a general perspective...

Take for example, Connor vs Diaz. They fight, suddenly Diaz has a lot of money and Connor moves on to make even more. If Diaz wanted to, he now has more money than what the UFC would pay a fighter to fight Diaz. So theoretically (this did not happen) Diaz could simply pay off whoever, make them go away...pay them to get hurt...and clear out the path so he could walk into the championship fight against a fighter OF HIS CHOOSING.

Connor could do the same. Anyone who hit the super big payout level could do it. Dana could do it. You are taking it from the perspective of who ducked who. I mused if it was a mutual agreement...both of their faults. How much money would it take for you to NOT FIGHT?

With all the shenanigans that I've seen the last couple years outside of fighting...and so many people suggesting both...just made me go hmmm....if Jones became the miracle heavy weight could he bring the UFC back to former levels of public interest? What if Connor returned around the same time against the right opponent...is the motivation enough to pull something that big? What would be the payout for the company?

Nah, but... nah. But...
