the fact that the UFC let their heavyweight champion leave, when he is a vicious knockout artist, is fucking embarrassing.

ngannou has a career finishing rate of 94%. he's won one fight by decision, everything else was either a KO or a submission. he was only ever beaten by decision.

the dude is likable as hell outside the ring, and an absolute monster inside it. they should've paid him so much money he wouldn't even know what to do with it. he's the promotion's dream fighter, and they fucked it up.
If the UFC is offering him in the neighborhood of $10 million to fight Jones and he refuses to sign the contract what the hell do you expect them to do? How many fighters in the history of the sport have made $10 million on any one fight? Name them?

Ngannou vs Jones makes the UFC their 20-40 million back with such a quickness, it really doesn't even matter. Jones and Ngannou would be the 2nd biggest UFC ppv of all time.

You know good and darn well that Dana ain't throwing out 10M per fight. No way, no how.

I honestly don't care. His business. Why the fuck do people care about #s - you aren't negotiating for the guy.

I hope he finds a deal he is happy with and fights soon because we all want to still watch him.

Jones got 3 million guarantee before any of the pay-per-view kicked in. So yes I believe he made in the neighborhood of $8 million which is what was rumored. Absolutely believe it.

GSP said in interviews in his prime he was making around 5 million per fight. With only 400,000 reported.

8M is a far distance from 10M.

When it comes to Dana...

Been saying this the entire time. The UFC isn't in the business of giving big guaranteed payouts and if they were, Francis wouldn't be receiving PPV points then.

Some people here for some reason think the UFC offered him a multi fight 8 million guaranteed contract. Yeah it's in the realm of possibility he might have made 8 million total for his fight with Jon

says the guy with the location of three real dumps of this nation and i live in one of them
All areas listed easily exceed Dallas for everything from income to life expectancy to obesity to education to architecture.
lol you actually like Jerry "Emperor Palpatine" Jones?
Hilarious.
Guy charges dumb goofs $100 to PARK at his bigass mcmansion-hell attendee stadium.

this one a bad example ..
I grew up/lived outside of Dallas from the early 80s to early 90s. I had to google Jerry Jones due to having no idea who that person is.

Agreed.
Jerry Jones is loved by a lot of nasty chromosome-missing people in one of the shittiest parts of the country.
I've lived all over the country. That part isn't the best, but not even close to "one of the shittiest". I'm more inclined to believe the "nasty chromosome-missing people" are the ones who watch ball chasing.

The dream fighter sells millions of PPV, Francis couldnt crack 500k.

This. As I understood Dana was not against Francis boxing, but he wanted for UFC to also get a piece of the cake.
Completely disagree, I think it's been pretty clear that the UFC was not going to let Francis box. The question wasn't whether the UFC got a cut or not.

I also don't Dana particularly enjoyed letting Conor box, with two of his UFC belts going undefended for long periods and eventually being vacated. And boxing fights are a lot more of a hassle to actually matchmake than UFC fights are. But the money made it worth it. Conor is the biggest MMA star ever and Mayweather is one of the biggest boxing stars ever, if not the biggest, so I don't think the money for a Francis fight would have been comparable.

That originally thought the Jones/Francis fight not happening was Jones fault, now realize it was probably Big Frank's fault?

There's a lot of people who think Jones ducked

When he's the only one who signed the contract
