Seems like a mistake for Francis

Jones Francis could have been the biggest event ever

I dont think Paul would take this fight and he probably shouldnt. Francis is huge w/ explosive power.
You might be right but Jake has been fighting smaller older fighters that were past prime wrestlers. It would completely redeem himself to beat Francis and with boxing rules 10 ounce gloves and 8-10 rounds Jake “could” win and if he even survived it would be a slap in the face to MMA and definitely to Francis.

They were trying to do Jones vs. Ngannou, it's Ngannou who wasn't down to fight.

lmao sure thing bro. Ngannou was scared of a stick legged pillow fisted guy. Jones wasn’t the one scared of getting KTFO then is suddenly down to fight once Ngannou left. I need proof before I believe that horseshit.

jones been asking for 30mil for like the past 3 years basically proving himself out of a fight. Suddenly Ngannou is gone and he’s ready to fight for less.

Plot twist: he's gonna be the star of Dana's Slapmaster Tournament or whatever it is and make twice what UFC fighters make.

So fucking glad HW can move on. Good luck in the next life Ngannou.
Lol he'll definitely try to come back after losing to Fury. Let's be honest, unless he pulls some crazy upsets(wont happen), he only has realistically 1 fight in boxing.

he'll be the new boring star of fake fighting on wwe maybe

Discount Ngannou coming for that strap in 2023! Dana’s FC ( Fight Circus ) continues to amaze!

When are they going to move on from The Goof?

hard to move on from someone who continues to make the company more and more profitable

in the last 20 years or so he has done nothing but stack increasingly impressive victories

even with this domestic violence case, he continues to make the company better

I’m glad, the dude did nothing but complain. Never once saw him promoting his fights. Pretty sure he’s going to regret this. Wild a dude that came from nothing complains non stop about making millions

This guy thinks the Reyes fight was impressive.

How much did Lesnar make per fight? Do you know offhand?
https://www.sportskeeda.com/mma/news-how-much-brock-lesnar-make-ufc

That of course doesn't include PPV points. But the biggest difference is it is a decade+ ago, so money was worth a lot more back them. 400K in 2008 is a shitload more than 400K in 2023.

It doesn't surprise me the UFC could afford to pay more than Lesnar. The wording Dana used indicates other fighters in UFC are on bigger contracts since he says HW and not all time. I assume Usman and Izzy were both on pretty deals (although obviously the losses have harmed their future UFC earnings).

I mean if Ngannou KO'd Fury he's playing a 200 iq chess move. But lol. I mean we are still in the real world of physics.

Would Ngannou even beat Derek Chisora in a straight boxing match?

It boggles my mind the people here defending the UFC. Francis had every right to let his contract expire - because the UFC was unwilling to let him fight in boxing fights.

The UFC is lying - they didn't "release him." His contract was expiring and Francis didn't resign because he didn't like the terms they were offering. Simple as that.

Francis always said it wasn't the money, he even said the money offered was good. However if they regard you as an independent contractor then you should be allowed to fight outside of the promotion. He said if he can't box its a non starter and UFC were never gonna allow him to do that. They likely offered more but 8+ fight deal and 0 freedom. Respect him for sticking to his guns, a shame though as he won't have as large of a platform.

It says a lot about the company when fighters would rather box a youtuber then fight for a title. Some of them are understanding their worth. Woodley made more off nothing fights against a popular yet lightly skilled non prospect then all his ufc title fights combined.

Hell Frank Mir fought a hybrid match against Pulev which nobody watched and he made more for that then when he headlined ufc 100 against Brock.
