Of course I'm aware. In Russia, the mafia is essentially a state actor. That doesn't mean Trump knowingly worked with Russian spies.

This is the leap of logic you're making. Russian mafia were buying real estate from Trump. Russian mafia has known ties to the KGB. Therefore, Trump is working with spies!



The fact of the matter is, the Soviet Union was disintegrating in the 80's. Hundreds of billions of dollars in capital flight was coming from Russian oligarchs, Communist party members and the mob. They were using shell companies to launder money everywhere.

A lot of that went through real estate transactions paid all in cash. Trump of course will be caught up in that and would accept cash for real estate deals.

But that was the case with a ton of other large NY real estate tycoons and businessmen in other fields too. You're trying to conflate that with Trump being some kind of special spy case where they solely cultivated him when it was super common to do deals with the tons of money flowing out of the Soviet Union.

And of course, the Soviet Union wanted to leverage some of these business dealings with American businessman into some kind of political advantage. But where's the proof Trump specifically was compromised? There is none. It's all pure speculation and trying to do guilt by association.



Bogatins real estate purchase was in 1983-1984. Trump visited Moscow in 1987 when Bogatin was in jail. There's zero evidence they're related at all.



The fact of the matter is Mueller found he didn't actively collude or conspired with the Russians.

And to say his business dealings are related to his presidency now makes zero sense because the Soviet Union collapsed in 1991. Any "spy influence" would have completely evaporated.



You guys are the ones doing mental gymnastics trying so hard to pin a conspiracy on him when there's no ACTUAL proof. The FBI did a intensive investigation and could not find evidence. Everything is innuendo and speculation.

And these real estate deals were in 1987. So any politician can't have business dealings in their past? Kind of a ridiculous standard.

And literally every single politician has conflicts of interest and corrupt too. That's what lobbying is. Politicians are supposed to serve the people, but they actually serve their donors who are taking advantage of the people.

I'm not making any tenuous connections. We know Trump's businesses have dealt with Russian criminals for over 40 years. We know Russian criminal enterprises have been operating out of his properties and multiple properties have been seized over the decades. We know after his business dealings with Bogatin he went to Moscow during the height of the cold war.

I never claimed he was some Manchurian candidate, just a stupid mark that the Russians influenced for their own gain that ended up paying off big time. I'm not sure how Trump doing business with known Russian gangsters for decades is somehow reasonable to you.

Isn’t true.
Mueller found plenty of links between the two. What he couldn’t prove is that the Trump campaign actively planned with Russia to do illegal acts, as opposed to merely being in communication with Russia about Russia doing illegal acts, and then being the beneficiary of those acts.

Do you understand cultivating an asset through business dealings in the 80's have no relevance because the Soviet Union fell in 1991? Their entire KGB spy apparatus was literally dissolved in Dec of 1991.
