Social Fixing California

I don't get the gimmick. As if materialistic acquisition and over-paying for a lower quality of life overall (traffic, crime, pollution, overpopulation, long wait lines, etc) is being "rich".

You're speaking of Donald Trump and our crony capitalist system, no?

Sounds like you're describing both to a tee.

I go to New York at least once a year. Beautiful city with great steak houses etc. It's pricey but it's worth every penny.

I went to a steak place with live jazz last night. Can't remember the name but a really cool vibe there and good steak.

NYC is amazing for chicks, just make sure to bring your wallet. It ain't for poor kids

Negative. I've lived in other cities like Fort Worth, Philadelphia, Tucson and Oklahoma City and the traffic is NOT insane everywhere. This is a uniquely Californian problem.

We'll agree to disagree. I've seen comparable and worse traffic all over the world. Bangkok can be as bad as LA and half the people there are on motorbikes.

Not me. I'm out of here within a few weeks, back to Arizona where the living is cheap, the girls are easily impressed and the commute is walkable. You can have California.

Lol, I lived in Arizona briefly as a kid. That place is a hellhole full of some of the country's worst people not from Florida or the Bronx. It's the Alabama of the southwest.

The girls are way easier tho, so I can't blame you there.

Diverse, yes, in some parts. In Riverside county it's mostly white, Mexican and black. San Diego is pretty great, especially if you love Asian girls. That's the main thing I'll miss about California, the Asians...

I genuinely get more unhappy the further away I am from Asians, so maybe that's where my strong Cali bias comes from.

I live near downtown LA. It sucks. Tons of homeless everywhere, dirty old streets, and old buildings.
OC and SD are nice though.

When in lived in the upper east side in 2011-13 all I could think of is that Manhattan is a single young woman’s paradise lol.

I grew up in conservative Nevada but have spent most of my adult life in the States living in California and NYC. There are huge differences between the two. Complaints about NYC are valid. Complaints about Cali are jealousy.

When people complain about NYC, it's an argument of value. They say you don't get enough bang for your buck. And it's true. Unless you're truly in the 1%, NYC isn't worth it. You still have shit weather, you still probably have to ride the subway, you still regularly pass filth and homeless people and have limited access to beauty and nature. No matter how much you pay and how many museums you enjoy and how many shows you watch and how much good food you eat, you can't escape the negatives.

When people complain about Cali, it's about expense. It's not that Cali isn't worth the cost, it's just that Cali is costly. However, if you're upper middle class in Cali, you actually CAN enjoy the weather and food and nature and friendly people without having to deal with the squalor and falsity of LA, for example.

The people who complain about NY see it as a bad investment. The people who complain about Cali, like some in this thread, are poor, unambitious losers who are too lazy to get the things they want in life, all of which California offers at not impossible prices.

California is America: a place that offers maximum opportunity and enjoyment for those willing to work for it. All the whiners in this thread are just mad because they feel entitled to the cool life and nice beachside property that a bunch of hard working Chinese immigrants are taking from them.

You realize you just compared a city to a state, right? There are plenty of great cities in New York, including Manhattan.

Read my posts in this thread. I make good money but still have to live an hour away from where I work because I don't want to live in the hood.

"try not being poor" lmao you're funny man

Revolver's using McDonalds free WiFi.

California is the best state in the country and it's not close. All you haters are just mad you don't live here. I honestly wish we could just annex ourselves and be our own country. Would be paradise.

^^^^ Probably lives in a shit hole like Fresno.

I was born very poor in SoCal (L.A.), grew up in NorCal (Roseville), went to college in SoCal (UCSD / UCLA), and live in Huntington Beach, CA.

It's gone to shit. We have homeless all over the place now. Crime has skyrocketed since the Democrats forced high density housing and now are forcing more low income housing. Our City Attorney is fighting the state to stop it. He will likely lose. I forgot to mention the drug epidemics that have hit all of our high schools (HB High, Edison, Oceanview, Marina, and Fountain Valley) all schools have seen a huge swing in drugs. They are turning the 405 Freeway into a toll road, so it will become like the 91 Freeway which is a nightmare. The congestion is insane now. They have closed our nuclear plant for no good reason running up the price of energy and making it come from Fossil fuels. We have no real 2nd Amendment Rights. Our schools are pushing crazy PC shit and indoctrinating the kids. Taxes! Cost of Living! Gas! Shitty roads!

Downtown HB used to be a real cool, chill environment. Now we have a bunch of tweekers all over the place and the cops can't keep up.

Once my son finishes High School, stand out wrestler at the top school in the county and a video editing specialist running the TV station, we will move. I hope to God he picks a college out of state, so he gets out too. I have been looking at Meridian, Idaho - Orange Beach, Alabama - and Pensacola, Florida. I will make my HB home a rental at over $4K a month. The good news is, wherever I move, I will never vote for a Democrat again, so no worries to my new neighbors about me bringing the fail that is California with me.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. California is by far and away the greatest state in this nation. Proud as hell to live here. Wish we could annex ourselves. They hate us cause they ain't us!

I own a rental in Anaheim and a vacation/second home in SLO. I don't live in Cali year round but it's where my heart is and always will be. If you don't want the traffic then don't live in SoCal. That simple. Having a lot of people doesn't make the place a shit hole. Being the most accepting and loving state in the country means a lot of people want to live here. Far and away the nicest people in the country. You'll see what I mean once you move.

lol blaming democrats for high density housing. Bro high density housing is a fantastic solution for ridiculous property prices and has hardly been implemented.

It looks like you've got your terms mixed up.

We're talking about "cities" not "shitholes". LMAO.

>>> Admits to being poor

>>>> Blames CA for his failures

Yea, seems about right LMAO. Hit the road and head to another state where the competition is easier, you poor.

California was fun when I was living in a studio apartment or a place with roommates. When I was "poor". It just feels so hopeless living there. I could have like tripled my income to $120,000 and my lifestyle wouldn't change that much. You have to be making so much money there to move ahead in life like you can in the rest of the country. You're doomed to like an early-mid 20s lifestyle forever.

lol KONG lives in some Jersey shithole.
. Are you serious??! I’ve been reading this thread and that guy have been lashing out at everyone likes he’s got stock in the state of Cali. LOL if he lives in Camden.
