I doubt anyone will beat Breivik's record. He planned things out very well; once he got onto that island, the poor bastards were in a kill box. They had no place to run. Helped by the incompetence of the Norwegian police, for example the, "elite" counter-terrorism unit didn't have access to a helicopter, which slowed the response time.

I actually prefer it when they live and have to face the music. Mass shooters have reported massive adrenaline dumps during or shortly after committing their crimes. This is when reality sets in and the weight of what they've done comes crashing in. It's no surprise so many of them kill themselves when they finish, but it's always disappointing. To cause permanent damage to families and then just avoid accountability. Most recent example was Peyton Gendron. He definitely came back to reality at some point and was genuinely sorry. Good thing is, that type of guilt can be absolute torture for people like him and I want nothing more than for them to suffer is prison regretting their crimes until they die.

If they could sentence him to life without parole in solitary confinement with no human contact other then commands by the guards. No entertainment of any kind . Just sit in a cell with the lights on then off at certain time I would agree with you but that's not going to happen. At least on death row for however long he will live every day knowing it could be his last. I hope that would bring him as much pain as possible.
