I don't see where we disagree. Trump is doing shit for his own purposes - I believe this is entirely politically motivated, and he's doing it opportunistically in a way where the door was really opened by the political opposition.

I find that question irrelevant in real life political outcome. This level of nuance never goes anywhere with the general public - the vast vast majority of people will not dig this deep; the far left though gives pop culture ammunition for Republicans to weaponize and unfortunately that's what matters in elections.

There is, however, very clearly due process and property rights associated with being a fed governor.

The right seems to be pretty unified in their simplicity and stances, but folks on the left often if they are not 100% in agreement with each other tend to start infighting or arguing, seemingly at what's at the end of the day over trying to be 1) the most virtuous person in the room, or 2) the superiorly informed person in the room.
