Final call - Jones vs Gane predictions?

Hoping for a finish but probably Gane by UD. Expecting Jones to look slow like molasses and having poor cardio.

Jones made a point to rag on Gane’s cardio in the N’Gannou fight, but he hasn’t been in a grappling heavy fight since he was swimming in a pool of juice, and now he is an older HW.
 
I think Jon accounted for ring rust with the choice of opponent: if he came back vs Ngannou he would need to be perfect for 25 min to leave with a win and his head still attached. But vs Gane he can probably eat some shots and still win with grappling or get a Reyes style gifted decision after being lit up early.

My prediction is it’s going to be another controversial decision/robbery for Jones (judges paid off by Dana). Gane will unofficially win 3 rounds in everyone’s eyes so he won’t lose any stock, but by having Jones win it will create more money fights at HW, that’s the best case outcome for the UFC so that’s surely the tentative plan unless a finish happens.

Let’s be clear on one thing, Gane cannot win a decision unless he pitches a total shutout like what Hill did to Glover. Jones is walking into the arena up 2-0 on the cards so just winning 3 or even 4 rounds won’t be enough, he needs a finish or to win all 5 rounds. UFC will not let the judges give a big star/undefeated legacy fighter like Jones an L, unless it’s a total domination where a robbery would be called out for the corruption that it is.
 
My brain says Ganes and heart says Jones.

If Jon is going to win this he can't risk giving Ganes any chance to tee off on him. Wrestling and clinching will be his primary game plan imo
 
I got Jones by tko from elbows on ground in round 3. Sorry, but Gane's wrestling is way too underdeveloped and I have to fade him in this fight, even against impending rusty Jones.

Ends up dominating and finishing gane

Jones using clinch and elbow after setting up with kicks. If he scores a takedown I think Gane will have little to offer from his back. TKO rnd 2 possibly 3.

Gane if he manages to connect with some heavy leg kicks might be able to remove Jones footwork which he relies on. I also think his cardio will be better than Jones if it goes after 3rd. If so Gane by UD.
 
I would suggest that bettors interested in going for Jones wait until after the first round if possible. I imagine Gane will outstrike Jones in the standup, and then in round 2 or 3 Jones will sneak in a takedown and brutalize Gane on the ground.
 
Jones by UD. If he couldn’t finish his last LHW-fights then I don’t think he’ll find a finish here either.

I just want a good fight, tbh

I think it will be a competitive fight with Jon's confidence in his striking abilities costing him sometime in the first couple rounds. Gets hurt, but manages to survive. He'll turn to a grapple-heavy approach that will pay dividends as Gane loses steam in the championship rounds.

Casuals have jobs and other things going on. The hardcore haters too busy in moms basement jobless screeching with their finger tips posting about it to show up.
 
I don't think you can take so much time off. Look at all the comebacks from people who were away from the sport for a long time. They don't do well with extended layoffs. I never root for Jones so I am thinking he gets injured in a grappling exchange.
 
Jones by RNC rd 1.

He'll get the takedown, top position, and Cyril will give up his back to avoid the elbows.
