JDS lost his iron chin after those two fights against Cain. All his losses after that came by knockout

JDS wasn't ever knocked out. JDS actually has always showed a great chin, and hasn't ever been slept (aka knocked out) in the UFC. Now TKO is a different story, but even against Ngannou he turtled up and Ngannou still landed some shots and still couldn't send him to the shadow realm.

Nah, he was up on the scorecards and the ref (Richard Steele) who was known to be in Don King’s (who promoted Chavez) pocket stopped the fight with 2 seconds left in the last round with Taylor still on his feet after beating the count. Taylor literally wins the fight if Steele doesn’t stop it with 2 seconds left. And of course Taylor wasn’t the same after this fight, that’s what this thread is about. I guess the guy was trying to do a hot take by saying "definitely won". Chavez officially won, because the ref waved it off and that's what went into the official record.

But everyone knows that it's on a technicality, 999 times out of a 1000, a different referee not paid by Don King, Taylor wins that fight. What referee would wave off a title fight with two seconds left and the boxer standing 10 feet away from the opponent?

Probably one of the dumbest decisions that lead to a fighter never being the same again up there with Weidman's wheel kick but probably worse cause Lombard was clearly ahead while Weidman might have been behind but had the momentum.

That ref should have had his license pulled permanently that night before he left the cage. That was absurd. Warren turned away at least twice and was held up by the cage and being hit for a long time. If Curran would have just stopped hitting him I think he would have crumbled in a heap.

Valentina started going over the cliff in her previous fight, then went totally over the cliff in her last fight. I think she will start losing every time she fights the best- Erin will tool her on the ground.

That seems to be a phenomenon of MMA- fighters don't so much gradually decline; they suddenly go over a cliff; it seems to happen to the elite a lot. Chuck, Fedor, JDS, CC, Tony, Penn, Anderson, etc. all suddenly hit a point where they either lost every fight or could only beat very minimal competition.

The smart folks who got out before this are Amanda and GSP. It's important to know when to quit.

I just never got emotionally invested enough.

I feel like you almost need to love something first to "hate" it. If you have no feelings either way, it can't really hurt you or affect you.

But I can 100% see how younger cocky Joe Warren would rub some folks the wrong way.

And goddamn did that ref do him dirty.
