I get where you are coming from but consider that Renan had won 30+ fights in a row including 7 in a row in the UFC. Really, no-one had a better record in MMA and he had wins over some of the top guys.

Hendricks, after the GSP loss he never fully recovered, he traded some wins and losses after but lost what he had on his rise up through the ranks. Sadly even his restaurant took a hit. Heck most of the people BJ Penn and GSP beat during their reigns of terror were never the same after.
