Volk was the better fighter than Aldo on the night they fought, he decisively outstruck him in each round.
Not at all comparable to Merab/Bautista, both of whom got pieced up by Aldo.

That being said, Aldo definitely could have performed better against Volk with a better gameplan + coaching.
