Spring 2024I heard he is the last one in 2024
Btw @MMAisGod How many points for Master? And is it true if you stop playing your rank goes down?

Finally reached Diamond.... today was kinda grindy and a bit stressful I pushed to reach it by today so I can move on from ranked.
I'm gonna take my sweet time to reach master rank and focus on playing the game the way I typically enjoy it with longer sets vs guys.

Master Rank starts when reaching 25k, and can go up and up and up as Master in points. But, you can't go down. So if you're at Master and lose 30 games ranked in a row you'll still be a 25k Master. Interesting how this will work since over time "more people" will reach the rank, so maybe they'll introduce a new high rank in the future. I heard too that if you don't play you lose rank but never saw it confirmed.
I just played my first master rank player (ken) he was definitely very good but not impossible to beat, it was a ft10 but he suddenly left at 4-3 his favor.
Some people are gonna reach master because they did well in the placement matches and really grinded to make it.
but I don't think the title is a guarantee of insane gameplay or anything like that.
Definitely agree. It's a range of skills even in Master, just that the range is tighter. I got to fight BananaKen recently and got swept 10-0 winning only like 3 rounds total (lol). But a couple days ago I also was beating a Master Kimberly player that was streaming 6-3 and they left so I went to their stream and gave them some trash talk for leaving early haha. They were only slightly above 25k too. I think it might be something where the lower Master players at 25-26k have a wider range, and Master players above 27k might be more vicious.
I would say the only thing I dislike about the game is the throw system it leads to very strong and brain-dead 50/50 shimmy/neutral jump mix up, and I feel like ken as a character has an easier time exploiting that.
I think most character's in the game are strong enough that an sf4 throw tech system wouldn't make the game too slow or defensive.
A lot of people probably agree with that. I remember during the beta lots of complaints about it and there was some "yea they'll clean it up" talk but post-launch it is actually even worse now that we have tech to abuse it. SF4's system is by farrrrrr preferable imo. Also if I'm remembering correctly in SF4 you wouldn't get counter hit if opponents hit you during the throw attempt, I'd like that back too because I find it different than an actual counter hit and can help when pressured to oblivion in the corner. I can imagine the pushback though.
Ken himself is probably the most underrated character right now. Dude was really strong in the beta, got buffed for some unknown reason, and had a lot of people saying "he's gonna be mid tier etc", but that character is so busted right now lolol. In a subtle way, but he's really good and does tons of damage as icing on the cake.
Comeeeeee on nowwwww, nothing tops this:
This is like the Prime Fedor of comebacks lol.
