Got new material to play with
But they gave Joe shitty glasses, that will never be forgiven
It’s laziness. It takes actual effort to age an established character. Instead they just threw on a pair of glasses and called it a day.Praying that the modders rectify that travesty pronto. Fortunately it's less noticeable in game.
There is something incredibly satisfying about his initial back step animation. Feels very "Thai" in nature. I think they nailed Joe here, sans the stupid fucking glasses. The chick too. WTF fights Muay Thai with glasses on???
Should've given him a "I WILL SMOKE U" shirt instead like my sweet new avatar I made with AI:

Smokin' Joe Higashi
Shit, just give him some grey hair strands, maybe a wrinkle or two, bit less cut. I don't think it's very difficult. I don't see glasses and think "old" especially when the other Muay Thai chick in this game has the same exact glasses and she's young. It’s laziness. Never saw an arcade machine back when it came out, just 1 and 2. Pretty odd cast. Pretty fun to watch this tournament though so far. It's hard to believe that there's a $100,000 tournament for fucking Art of Fighting 3. I remember not caring for it at first, but then I realized that SNK was trying to make their own "3D fighter" using the Neo Geo hardware. I still didn't care for most of the new cast besides Kasumi, Karmen, and Sinclair.
Remember, you saw him here first. Just like Endingwalker, these young prodigies are just *BOOM* and they're on the scene like Thanos teleporting in.
Literal children's game
Apparently I just need to be a young teenager, pick Ryu, and place high at international events lmao
Wanna see what someone looks like when the win a full bag?
REVO is actually a remake of VF5 using the Yakuza game engine! I think it's really impressive that they were able to remake the gameplay completely 1:1 without any weirdness added from using a new engine. IMO while REVO is awesome to play and the way I'm playing VF5 right now, I think it was more of a tech demo for the Sega team to see if the engine would be viable to use for the development of Virtua Fighter 6. Based on the VF6 footage I've seen, it looks like the same engine but with beefed up graphics, at least.I've been sleeping on Virtua Fighter 5 REVO. I played a lot of Final Showdown back on PS3, and also on RPCS3 with texture replacements a few years back which made it look great.
I grabbed REVO recently on a sale after it finally hit PC, but just now started digging into it since they added a new first player quest mode to make it interesting. Graphics look fucking unreal for a game this old. They were really ahead of the time on animations.
Brad arguably has the most complete Muay Thai fight style in all of fight games.
I'll be digging into this more while waiting on VF6.
Yeah, they are definitely using this as a playing ground for VF6. I do miss the customization in Final Showdown though, it was way more extensive.REVO is actually a remake of VF5 using the Yakuza game engine!
