Fighting Games Discussion

Alright my Evo follow up update:

Got 513th out of 4,651 in Tekken, Top 11% out of such a large entry not bad lol. Was eliminated by the guy who cakewalked his way into the next round of Top games remaining. Could have gotten even higher if not for that but dude was just at the next level that I don't have the time enough to reach these days playing multiple FGs games the way I do. Still hype to have won on stream to a guy who placed even higher than I did (lol) and winning the Chipotle tournament last night. All and all an overall great weekend of playing with some takeaways to learn from and build on.

I got to play 2XKO, mannnnn this game is gonna be fun. Started getting the hang of some of the mix-up and pressure options towards the end, seems like it will have more depth than I thought which is great. High hopes after actually playing it.

Got to try SNK's City of the Wolves because obviously I HAD to try that lol. It was easy for me to pick up from past experience, and I'm bias so it was my favorite. It's exactly what you would expect it to be and then some. Gonna be a week off of work to play this at launch lol.

Did not get to try Lidia, lines were so long for each game, I had to make sacrifices somewhere.

Did not try Under Birth or DBZ updates because no interest lol.

Tried MK1's new patch, did not try Takeda. The new patch appears to have finally made the game more enjoyable. Characters feel stronger in a good way, and kameos that were useless now seem good (like Darrius, etc).

Bought some Merch, Chun-Li and Sakura T-shirts, an art booth Ed drawing, and some stickers/tags.

Realistically the Evo Japan 3rd Strike event was probably a bit better in terms of standard of play but I think having Hugo and Elena feature so late made this event more fun.

Doubt it will happen but Capcom should put out a very slightly updated 3rd Strike IMHO, very small nerfs to Yun(SA3 meter 20%ish longer) and Chun(SA2 does 20%ish less damage) and I think you actually have a pretty well balanced game besides Sean and 12(and even he showed some sucess with Valle).

remember when the 3rd Strike on xbox360/ps3 was supposed to have balance changes but hardcore fans insisted against it?

your proposed changes make sense to me, except Yun's SA3 duration should not be extended.

Sorry I meant the meter for Yun's bar should be made longer not that the activation should be longer, keep it the same time but run down the meter timer faster.

I can see why people wouldnt want wholesale changes to the game and I don't like the culture were devolpers give in to the fanbase to "punish" characters but those two changes I think would not really change how the game is played much, you could still do all the same stuff with Yun and Chun but Yun would have to wait slightly longer for his super and Chun would do slightly less damage.

Don't think either would need to be massively changed to balance them out, when you get beyond them honestly I feel like 3rd strike is pretty well balanced for the rest of the cast, some are maybe harder to learn but their potential ceilings are not massively far apart, you do have world class Hugos, Qs, etc.

That is probably my favorite fighting game of all time next to MKX. CvS2 is still featured a ton at tournaments as a side event. I typically always try to watch it. True Love Making is the Goat fighting game level song.
 
For the guys who play ranked in sf6. I'm having a hell of a time finding matches. Anyone else facing the same issue? I don't know of it's a master rank issue or what cause I have it at worldwide search and accepting all connections but it's still such a long wait for matches.
