Fighters You Feel Sorry For

Lol at cat zingano beating rousey if she didnt rush in.

I'll point out a bunch of other inaccuracies when I get to work. BEWARE.

My man Virgil

Also that Japanese dude who had to fight Cro Cop and Fedor back to back
I have heard stories of this guy having violent outbursts whenever he did get tv/press opportunities. CTE'd

Got a soft spot for the oafs that get constantly beat up like Big Foot , Hong man Choi, Giant Silva, the Colossus, Todd Duffy, Sapp, etc etc. Poor bastards.

Walt Harris, Ray Borg. Adam Milstead.

anyone who knows anything about mma, knows how much of a badass jake shields is.

I don't know Tony personally, but he's definitely one of those dudes that makes me worry. He had some seemingly pretty legitimate mental health concerns and a lot of people were worried about him. In response to persons' concerns, he seemed almost upset with people (publicly at least) for showing that they cared. I'm a big fan of his inside and outside of competition -- I just hope he's okay mentally.
im a HUGE Tony fan, but me having been around a lot of crack and meth heads, his problems seem to stem from that place, although mental health issuses obv lake it worse

Yeah Tony's up there on my list.

Not only his mental health which does seem concerning at times, but the man won the interim LW belt, tripped over a fucking cord doing a UFC mandated media appearance and ripped apart his knee, was stripped of the interim belt cause of this injury, inexplicably had to win two more fights before getting another title shot... I like Khabib too, but for these reasons I'm rooting for Tony in April.
Same -- he got shafted bad imo

There is no way on earth any Gracie could have coped with having their eyes torn from their heads and the contents of their scrotum squeezed into bean juice by the dreaded SAFTA arsenal of pain... What's an arm bar when someone is shoving their fingers into your brain via your orbital?

SAFTA Hess GOAT.

Vitor-ko-Hess.gif

anyone that knows anything about safta knows that one of the primary techniques against bigger guys to play dead while letting them tire themselves out punching you in the face

terrible stoppage, stopped before he could even begin his attack on a visibly gassed belfort — mma just isn’t ready for safta

jeremy jackson - pleaded guilty and is doing 25 years to life for alleged rape of an ex girlfriend

I met jeremy and he was a very nice soft tempered guy

if you look at the case and the facts around it seems like it was a messy breakup situation and he just broke down and pleaded guilty even though everyone was advising him against it - even the jurors tried to stop it

people rape random people on the streets and get 10-15 years - not saying what he did was ok or even that he did it(really not sold )just think the punishment is insane even if he did commit the crime

Johnny, got lazy and blew all his money. Got to stay in shape to buy gas for that thing.

Chris Lytle. Was always fun to watch and people don't seem to remember him. It's a shame because win or lose he left it in the cage. Seemed like a good guy as well.

Poor strange brew... I though about him for the list, but it made me too sad! Lol

The fact it was Leben makes it so much worse... Motherfucker spritzed on his bed ffs.

Did you ever see the article about him? I assume you did seeing as you mention the bullying back in Canada... Poor fucking guy.

Amazing article.

Holy shit. I managed to read that long ass article in parts between running to two auto shops for car trouble and getting work done today, and damn - what a piece. I'd completely forgotten about that guy, but damn what a story. Sad, depressing, and eye opening. At least he got to land a right hand on Uncle Dana though.

Don’t feel bad for any fighter.

They chose to pursue this sport.

feel bad for those that can not control their circumstances. That’s more than most people.

Feel bad for those that are starving in third world countries or those stuck in war torn countries

Chris Lytle did quite well from his MMA career, and transitioned it to a career in low-level politics, so I heard....

He's one of the lucky few that didn't win a belt, still has hardcore appeal, and isn't broke and fucked up somewhere... At least as far as I know.

A lot of good ones named already.

I kinda feel bad for Uriah Hall. The guy clearly has an amazing skillset but he seems to be mentally broken by someone or something that happened in his life. He looks to be lost and depressed in victory or defeat.
Uriah Hall went out with J-Lo - although the chances are that despite having all the skills, he failed to rise on the big occasion, and they just ended up hugging a lot.
