Fighters with deep eye sockets

explain foremans flat face?

it's not about having an angular face, its about whether the eye is "behind" the plane of the bone, which foreman's is. angles just make cuts worse.

Can you show me a pic of a humans whos eye sticks out past their brow?

people are laughing at this thread but having deep-set eyes is the #1 common physical characteristic of great fighters.

cant fight if you get struck in the globe of your eye everytime you take a face shot. your eyes need to be set behind the plane of your brow and cheek or you cannot fight without headgear, period. face structure matters. people who dont understand this are probably the same people who needed a detail explanation as to how cormier was using the towel, because they are dopes.

thank you!

Finally someone who understands the utility of this thread. I've made similar ones in the past and Sherdog by and large just treats it like a fun joke.

I got punched while trying to break up a fight two years ago. I started a thread about it, and lemme just say I'm lucky as fuk that I didn't turn my head just a few degrees more, cause I probably would need eye surgery or something.

It doesn’t matter how deep your eye socket is it only takes a knuckle to land in the eye.
i think its safe to say most humans eyes sockets are slightly deeper than their brow, stick a flat thin object infront of your eye on your forehead down your cheek chances are that object only brushes against your eyelashes

His eyes look very exposed not hidden at all, foreman used to get his eyes swollen shut frequently

Sure his eyes are shallower than many fighters. The deeper the better though, that's the point.

It's generally not a good idea to use pics of guys when they're older as examples though, since with advanced age comes degradation of the cheekbones, which protect the bottom.

Deeper set your eyes and thicker your infraorbital (bottom) and supraorbital (top) sides are, the better.

Copious amounts of broscience going on in this thread.

But thats one of the most durable fighters on the planet

Another guy that took allot of punishment.

Is it really better? While it might protect the eye slightly better it leaves you much more open to cuts around the eyes.
So the deeper may not be better because your eye will be swollen shut regardless if you get hit near it hard enough

Always an exception to every rule...

Protruding brow part of high testosterone from early on.

Something to be said for this -used to spar with this guy from N.Africa, maybe somali I forget but he had these big bug eyes. Anytime i caught him with an uppercut he'd literally break out as it always swiped his eye. Felt bad, told him to mean mug and squint to no avail

I dunno, having a deep eye socket or the eyebrow bone area protruding out is just ugly.
