The NFL only has health insurance for retired players for 5yrs only, the UFC will never have health care pensions for fighters. The only sport that has health insurance after you retire for the rest of your life is the MLB.
Even the US military requires 20 years of service to earn lifetime health insurance coverage eligibility. The UFC like the NFL does pay for health care expenses for injuries sustained preparing for or participating in activities related to their organization, but it is ridiculous to expect them to provide lifetime healthcare coverage for everyone that has fought in their organization.
How in the world should UFC be responsible for Cung Le's problems when he only fought there 4 times and was 39 years old the first time he did. It is pretty sick that he is the one leading this and getting the greatest benefit.
