Fedor's GnP was insane

Which fight? the 3rd?
Yeah Fedor of course got tired from throwing a 245 lb guy to the mat all night long, but it was only really in the last 30 seconds, but Nogueira couldnt catch up in time. Too late, too late.

People mention what if the time was unlimited? well Fedor would have fought differently,so it doesnt matter hahaha

For sure I'm just giving Nog his flowers for his toughness and resiliency.

How advanced was Fedor's GnP vs. Levon Lagvilava? Because while Lesnar was taking on a former UFC champ in his second fight, Fedor was fighting nobodies. Pride bias and intelligence are indirectly proportional around here (I doubt any Prideaholics will get that one without 20 minutes on the internet and a few conversations with math friends).

What are you even talking about? Levon fight wasnt even in Pride,he hadnt got there yet. Obviously he was not going to be fast tracked like Lesnar was, because Lesnar was already a crossover star from elsewhere. But heyyy your the one talking about intelligence.... thats funny.
Lol on top of that, RINGS didn’t even allow GnP. No ground strikes to the head. What a silly post.

Every Fedor thread is like old guys chatting about the old days

With all the casuals and newer fans, people need the occasional reminder of what Fedor was like in his prime. Many people only know the washed Fedor from Bellator.

We’re trying to teach some of you young ‘uns a thing or two. ;)

Boxing fans talk about Sugar Ray Leonard regularly. Basketball fans still talk about Jordan regularly. Only low iq UFC fans are dismissive of and disrespect the legends of the past.

"Fans"

Or maybe we’ve been around long enough to see how fighters from different eras actually fought and how they compare.

SO get out and check yourself into an o'malley thread and talk about the legendary moutinho fight

I got gang banged by you guys

Really rational of you claiming Stipes GnP KO of 37 year old CTE fossil Reem who had 17 KO losses was more impressive than Fedors GnP of Nogueira who was 28, in his prime and never been stopped, not to mention he was a much better grappler off his back than Reem.

Delusional thirsty ass shill lol
No one said “more impressive”. It was more devastating. and arguably harder strikes.

Again if you were to argue the most devastating strikes were strikes that didnt visibly impair a fighter it wouldn’t be credible. But that doesn’t matter here. It’s fedor….

No one will ever do what he did. Fedor punching the ground as Herring crawled out of the ring is something I'll never forget.

YOU WERE AT THIS EVENT LIVE????

Epic!!! Would be awesome if you had any pictures!!!

I wish I did. I don't think I had a cell phone with a camera then, but I do have a good photo somewhere of me and Bas Rutten together. I was also on camera for a second when Takada "fought" Cro Cop -- Takada would just fall on his back, and I was yelling "nasakenai Takada" and "yowamushi" ("you're pathetic, Takada" and "you're a wimp") from the fifth row, and the Japanese are so quiet that you could hear me on camera and I know Takada heard me. Later, I got up on my chair and threw my drink into the ring. I can't remember if it made it into the ring or not, but the camera was on me for a second. So, that was my 15 seconds of fame.

Who's liklier to be devastated by strikes on the ground? 37 year old fossil CTE Reem with 17 losses by KO or prime 28 year old, better grappler Nog who has never been KOd????

Asking for a friend.

No worries brother. Thanks for sharing your story. The memories will live with you forever. Eternal goat.

Again, you’re insisting the strikes that didn’t visibly impair his opponent is unquestionably the most damaging and impactful strikes we’ve seen in a fight. No one is saying nog doesn’t have a better chin.

Prime Fedor's GnP was great but I'd say Prime Cain's was more damaging. If we are just talking about GnP and not considering submission skills I would put Cain first and Fedor second.
But even fedor wasn’t able to replicate that depending on his opponents defense. Cro-cop spent half the fight on the bottom without taking much damage.
Cro Cop defended himself well in the first round, but after that he took a lot of damage.

It's called watching tape and making a gameplan not to get crushed. You know the difference between offensive open guard and double wrist control Nog used in the first fight compared to the tight, defensive closed guard while hugging Fedor tight used by Mirko? Obviously what Mirko used is harder to GnP through. That's why Nog was able to throw up submissions and reverse Fedor while Mirko wasn't. Not only are you a shill but also a noob lol

That is I think a lot of the truth, part of the reason Nog took so much punishment is that he fought very offencively in the first fight, didnt try to lock Fedor up with a tight guard. You can see in the 2nd and 3rd fights he does that but in doing so he's also limiting his offencive quite significantly, espeically in terms of potential sweeps.

I said Nog had a better chin.

you keep name calling instead of having confidence in your position.

again, you’re taking the position that the gnp that didn’t visibly impair his opponent is unquestionably the most devastating we have seen.

you can’t even see it.

to add on
My friend asks: name one good young fighter Stipe finished in their prime or close it? For a guy with such devastating GnP and striking he should have finished some one good and young. Just name one please

He wanted to catch Fedor in a scramble or a transition, trying to advance. Thats why he didnt lock him up. He expected him to be active, never thought he'd stay in the guard intentionally.
