Fedor went undefeated for years. He lost towards the end of his career. Everyone knew he was slowing down since the brett rodgers fight.
Fedor had alot if milage from combat sambo and mma more so then most fighters. Combat sambo is the closest thing to mma.
Not to mentioned you get old in the gym by all the time you prep for these competitions.
C’mon, fedor didn’t take a lot of head damage in his combat sambo fights.Hendo didn't do combat sambo for years before doing mma. He did wrestling where you don't get punched. Pretty simple to understand.
but it doesn't diminish how good he was in his prime.Which is fair but being not as good because you stop trying and training as hard is different than losing because your physical skills are naturally deteriorating. The former can be true for any fighter at any time IN their prime for varying reasons. Tyson’s prime ended in his early 20s because of many factors none of which was a natural physical decline.
Fedor had plenty of physical mileage LEFT at that age. Contrary to the narrative from a lot of people in this thread he didn’t take a lot of damage in his fights (most are quick to point this out when discussing how good he was). He had some hand issues of course. But his wear and tear physically on his capabilities was probably NOT high on the list of reasons he lost to werdum.
No shit, my point is, Fedor is the GOAT but youre discrediting all his opponents by using the excuse of him being out of his prime moreso than he made poor decisions against solid fighters.
Yes he was out his prime but his prime had nothing to do with him diving into Werdums guard like that. It plays a part bur youre talking like the ONLY reason Fedor loses is because he was getting on, not because he made some bad decisions that led to some of his losses.

He was a small HW. Fedor is the p4p GOAT HWWhat does #1 p4p HW mean?
I agree.It doesn’t.
It also doesn’t mean he automatically beats werdum, hendo and Bigfoot in his prime either.
Imagine 2 cars of the exact same make and model are ten years old, one has 200k miles on the clock and has been ragdolled around and the other only has 50k miles on the clock and has been driven responsibly. Which do you think will be in better shape? It’s a basic example but the premise is important. Apply this to MMA and your understanding may grow. Fight mileage plays a crucial factor.hardcore mma fans acting like the guy was 60yrs old and past his prime when he lost to werdum guy was barely hittin a HWs prime hell stipe was 1 year older when he won the title no doubt fedor was the 1 p4p hw during his pride run but in retrospect the guy barely cracks the top 5.

And how many fights did they have when they won those titles? The average age of UFC HW champions when they won the title is 31.06 years old.
31-33 is prime fighting age.
Only 2 current champions from both UFC and Bellator are under 30 years old, and they're in their late 20s (27 and 28).
The premise that Fedor was old and shopworn at 33 is false. He barely took any damage throughout his career, had no major surgeries, and more than half of his 27 fight unbeaten streak was against unranked fighters, cans, and freakshows. When he fought Werdum, it was the first time in his entire career that he faced 4 top 10 fighters in a row, with Rogers barely making the cut. Fedor would go on to amass a 3-3 (50%) record the first time he fought 6 top 10 guys in a row. Two of them barely made the top 10, and one was ranked in a lower division. The cage, the testing, the competition, and the length of his career all played a part in his eventual downfall. It wasn't just that he was "passed his prime".
Male physical prime starts roughly at 27-28, and begins to decline after 35 in most cases. He's an elite fucking athlete and didn't age faster than most humans.
