Fedor Was Only 33yrs old When He lost to Werdum

I know exactly how pride worked. Fixed fights, .
Believe me, you dont want Ruthless Gono to double-check ya on this shit...

Kosaka was shown favouritism.
.
hmmm. .. the fact that Handy got a UD & not SD or W-D-D against TK kindah disqualifies that narrative...

Should those fights be excluded from his official MMA record then? It's not me who placed them there, you know. Kohsaka was shown favoritism in Fedor fight, Fedor was shown favoritism in Arona fight. Now what?
The Arona fight is really too complex to assess, dont step in, mate...

Lol. I wonder why pride never bought out ufc then..
They barely acknowledged them, jus´like current UFC & Bellator...

Arona was 2-0 in MMA when Fedor faced him. Rings wasn't full-on MMA.
Both were rookies... New Genz...

Meanwhile, Rings was more MMA in its richer, true sense... than Vale Tudo or Light VT a la UFC...

Where did i say that everybidy is immune from wear and tear from fight camps, grappling and amateur mma tournaments?
Please show me another fighter who had 30 fights and still was in his prime and with no serious injuries after that.

@gono btw , whoop dat ass!

Poor Fioretti´s already tapped thrice ITT... did worse than The Law vs Bustah...

That could be true. Training was also much poorer back in those days and the techniques and sport science within MMA in the early to mid 00's was truly dreadful. Even Wanderlei has spoke in the past on how bad the training was on their bodies and how they though going hard was the right thing to do but realized later it was a mistake and was actually hurting their bodies.

But at the same time things still don't add up. Such as briefly prior to the Werdum fight few people were actually questioning Fedor's place as the one top HW on the planet, something media outlets would also parrot.
Fedor was already slipping against Hunt and Coleman 2 in pride imo ....Just because someone wins doesn’t mean they’re in their prime

Physical prime is a lot different than peak performance, and is often lumped together incorrectly on these forums.

Travis Fulton. Mousasi. Jan Blachowicz won the UFC LHW strap at 37 years old in his 35th fight.

There's 3. Need to phone another friend?

So, i am glad you accept you got whooped on other topics.
Great job, @gono btw
Let's see what you got.

1- Travis Fullton.
Guy was 6-4 in his first fight, bever competed in UFC, Pride, Bellator, Strikeforce, and lost to every more or less recongnizable name except for half recognizable journeymen Wesley Correira and Joe Riggs...
Long career for sure, probably eats roids for breakfast, just hard to see where guys prime is, where he is crashing cans and losing to any half decent name.

2- Mousasi has much better resume, great streak, but wasn't a champ like Fedor for 5+ years, lost title in SF, lost 3 in UFC and now at 35 years is winning and losing close decisions... hard to call that his prime.

3- Jan rejuvenated his career well, but Fedor by 33 yo had more wins than Jan at 37 and Jan has 8 losses... and Fedor fought all the best , and much heavier guys since mid 20s, JAn just gor to the top , cause he was getting beat by likes of Manuwa and Cummins , lol.

So example 1 is laughable and while 2 and 3 are good, they didn't have level of constant competition and achievements of Fedor and neither of them was a HW, where damage is highest and where Fedor almost always fought bigger men, while Mousasi and Jan weighted the same.
That gives difference in fighter's wear and tear.

All you proved was that all 3 guys had more mileage than Fedor, and kept continuing to win after age 33. Oops!

I agree and some point's during the Rogers fight he was getting battered. But the point is a lot of his fans were still swearing him to be the current number 1 at the time.

It's also a subject of debate whether or not he was past his prime in his late 20's/early 30's or if he was struggling with the step up in competition during that time like a lot of Pride era fighters were.

Definitely don’t feel it was a step up in competition....Nog and Cc pretty tough HWs....Werdum would be dangerous on the ground against any version of Fedor

To everybody who thinks fighting the likes of Zulu is anything but a travesty and disgrace:
