Fedor taps mark hunt

Of course it does. Around 2007-2008, Fedor also changed his fighting style, And more or less abandomed his grappling. It might have been injuries or that he stopped training.

For Hunt it was probably just that he knew What would work, And had a gym that saw that a good striker with tdd can do great in a weaker HW division.

Hey bro I love you either way I just think its ridiculous to think that Hunt had a better ground game 13 years ago because he had 13 years of less mat time at that point.

As a long time BJJ practitioner I know Ricardo Liborio doesnt give out brown belts to people just for working on their takedown defense.

Hunt is a better grappler today than he was in Japan when he was training with nobodies in New Zealand shortly after his K1 career.

He would tell you this himself.

You can say he was younger and more athletic back then but there is no way he was a more skilled grappler before spending years at ATT.

I recently watched this and the Randleman fight lately, it's interesting to go back and watch em now, even though you previously thought you knew them by memory, there's always some little detail thats new due to your ever progressing mma knowledge.
And it is refreshing seeing that longtime Fedor nut huggers can finally see flaws in their hero.

Easy there buddy, one day you'll reach maturity too.

I really need to read his book

I lost my voice cheering for Hunt while watching that fight at Saitama.

Some time after the fight Fedor said in an interview that he was never in any real danger from Hunt's kimura attempt.

And I think somewhere in his book Hunt mentions that he got lucky with that kimura.

Another entertaining Fedor fight. He hardly disappoints.

He did beat Wanderlei and Mirko in his first few MMA fights tho. On top of winning the K-1 World GP
He should have lost a decision in both of those fights, to be honest.

You can hear the total excitement and hopes of his corner when he had Fedor in side mount. In Pride the crowd shuts the fuck up so you can hear this shit.

Hunt was 290 in that fight. Not easy to move...

How did Fedor not get knocked out when Kevin Randleman slammed him ? Maybe him being a judo guy significantly helped ? I think most people would seriously get knocked out from that.
