Fedor have never been wrestlef-d before

I’m a fan of saku, believe me. I’ve always been a fan. He was one of the first real well rounded guys and had so many fun fights. Unfortunately, being a pioneer and being brave doesn’t make you a GOAT. Maybe in his time, but throughout all of MMA history at this point, I don’t consider him at all. Fedor yes, saku no. Fedor is on any GOAT list and for many he’s THE greatest.

Personally, I think this GOAT discussion is just dumb. There’s so many factors, so many traits certain fighters have that can put them near the top when skill wise they’re not actually that great, you know what I mean? Fedor was amazing, skill wise. Not only that but he was unbelievably dominant for the most part.

Then you have someone like Cain who was looking amazing but his career has been ruined from injuries (not saying Cain is goat). Skill wise, Cain was one of the best we’ve ever seen for a HW and was insanely dominant. He lost unlike fedor, but that’s the game. Although Cain fought a lot of the same guys.. he beat ‘prime’ JDS.

To me, the issue with Jr. is he never evolved. But back before he was ever beaten in the UFC n knocking everybody out, Cain’s wins are incredible. Had he never been plagued with injuries, I definitely could’ve seen him ruling the division for a good while. Cain never really got to prove himself against a lot of great opponents but skill wise I believe he’s one of the best HW’s ever, also one of he most effective and that’s truly what matters in the end.

I put GSP at the top. His record is amazing considering the level of competition he faced. his skill, fight IQ (best ever), athletic ability, etc, he’s above everybody. People can say he’s a cheater but he was never caught unlike Silva and Jones. I’m not a huge fan of GSPs fighting style but I can appreciate how good he is. I understand what he’s doing in there and it’s not easy. Sometimes It’s easier to go for the KO and sub than it is to pick your opponent apart for 25 minutes. Some won’t believe that but they’re dumb n can fuck off.
SAKU is not a pioneer, UFC myth...

He´s from an already evolved generation.

Fight could go either way tbh

But people will still say Fedor is the goat even if he loses
That’s because it’s the truth. He’s past 40 now and a shell of his former self. A loss doesn’t mean much at this point, and Sonnen is on TRT, you can bet the house on that, so he might be able to pull it off.

But if this fight happened 10-15 years ago, do you honestly believe that Sonnen would have a chance in hell? Fedor would fucking rape him, and he’d do it fast.

Expect a wave of weaboo suicides after the American Gangster has his way with old Fedor.

Funny how nobody mentions how Sonnen is actually MW fighter. If sonnen wins it will be by decision but I doubt he will win just because he is smaller and do not posses ko power.

The best wrestlers Fedor fought were a 40+ year old Coleman, who still had a 1990s skillset and telegraphed his TDs from a mile away...and LHW Kevin Randleman, who lost as many fights as he won. For the record, Coleman later fought at LHW, so he was by no means a big HW wrestler. Both Randleman and Coleman had awful submission defense, too.

Coleman and Randleman are two of the only well known fighters with worse sub defense then Sonnen
Coleman and Randleman beat:

Alan Goes, Fontes Braga, Mutant Morais, Shogun & Ninja Rua, Babalu Sobral, Akira Shoji, Bonnar, Mario Neto - all BJJ black belts / high level submissions & ground game.

I would peg fedor as around a -150-180 favorite so not too wide of odds

Fedor opened at -288 but that's probably to get action rolling and is currently at -231.Chael at +232 was an ok bet but I don't really like him much under +200 (+189 rn) since he has very little power and is over the hill himself.I think your odds are decent but i'd have Fedor as a little bigger favorite, not that i'd touch this fight.I put very little stock in Sonnen's 2 fight win streak,Rampage is fat af/out of shape and Wanderlei is ancient physically plus a good style match for sonnen. Not to mention the size difference etc.I wouldn't be too surprised if Chael won but I don't think so.

No, he never had the discipline to cut below 205, so he's a full-time HW until he does. It has nothing to do with what you could do.
Why would he cut down to 205 hw division has always been weak

Hahahhahaha I'm right!!!!

Yep.

Was it weak when he lost 3 fights in a row in SF? Why didn't he cut weight and go for the LHW belt instead of going to small orgs and fighting ancient versions of Jeff Monson and Pedro Rizzo? He just likes the easy route??

The reason Fedor has never been truely wrestle fucked is because he's subbed anyone who has tried before they could.

Fedor by armbar.

Yeah tell that to arona and Bigfoot... never wrestledfucked my ass.

Bum ass loser calling himself an entrepreneur...yea an entrepreneur of depression and basement dwelling.

I spend my summers in corsica and my winters in the Caribbean where I eat seafood platters that cost more than you make a year.

Bum ass, bitter ass, american basement dwelling, broke bitter loser. Go watch a cub Swanson highlight and kill yourself lol

The difference is Fedor probably had 20-30LBs on Hendo. DC was 5 LBs bigger then Stipe
And? Hendo hits harder than most HWs anyway. It’s not all about how much they weigh.

I'm not surprised at those odds. I think chael at those odds is a decent bet. I could understand fedor being above what my personal handicap was. nearly 3-1 for fedor is kinda crazy for me. I wouldn't touch anything above 2-1 for fedor even though I believe fedor should win. Like you said though I don't think anybody should be surprised if chael were to win

Arona Lay and Pray to loss a decision =/= "Wrestle fucked"

Lindland is a freaking MW (Sonnen will be the 3rd MW that Fedor has faced). Monson was never a good MMA wrestler (was outgrappled by Tim Sylvia). LHW Arona and Herring have zero wrestling credentials.

Lindland was literally an Olympic silver medalist in wrestling.

Herring was a top-10 high school wrestler in Texas.

Arona was undefeated in submission wrestling and an Abu Dhabi champ.

Jeff Monson was PAC-10 wrestling champ and also an Abu Dhabi champ.

You have absolutely no idea what you're talking about.

TRT Hendo's overhand right could have knocked out any fighter who has ever competed in any form of MMA at any weight anywhere.
