"Did those belts ever go to Africa? As far as I know it came to America and New Zealand. I'm gonna take the belt to Africa. I'm the African fighter in the UFC" -Dricus Du Plessi

Yes because he fights out of South Africa lol. That's what he meant by that. He resides in there, he represents the country. I don't know what is so confusing about this.
Ye, I also should have added that. Even without that, it's perfectly fine for him to say this. He just says he represents South Africa. People just looking for a way to bash him. It's unbelievable. Also, read my post above. I feel like so many people forget the context of that quote and what the journalist asked him in order to prompt that statement from dricus. It is amazing how many people took that message wrong
Alcoholic!
@fortheo is an OG DDP fan.
LOL the irony here is strong, you are the one being insincere by trying to push the false narrative that DDP was being racist when he clearly wasn't. I get it though you're an Izzy fan and he has now been clearly outed as a racist, must suck to try and defend such behaviour but pushing false narratives is not the way to go.
I mean, not surprised, be a human being for once Izzy...not sure why he comes in with a mental midget attitude or Jr High Kid attitude...DDP was respecting RW who is a nice respectful guy...like does respect mean anything to this guy?And rightfully so. What the hell was that man...

You realize the context in which he said that, right? Izzy wasnt a champ. Usman wasn't a champ, and ngannou was in endless negotiations. The journalist pointed that out and said there wasn't many fighters at the highest level to represent Africa anymore.....to which dricus said, "I'm the african fighter"
Meaning, in a time where all those other africans were losing or seemingly leaving the ufc, he'll be the one to represent africa at the highest level in mma.
I as well, I thought he would lose this one.But daddy Dana more or less said it was perfectly fine. Btw, you were correct about DDP, he did surprise the fuck outta me. It was you that said that, right? Lol
And yet Izzy has 10's of thousands of people interacting with his posts
His online engagement is one the highest in the UFC
The interest for their potential fight is already incredibly high. And it will only grow once there is an official announcement
Hate him or love him you are paying attention
Adesanya is out here playing 4D chess while y'all playing tic-tac-toe
Scummy of Du Plessis for what? Telling the truth? Adesanya's belt resides in New Zealand, Kamarus resides in America as does Francis. If Du Plessis wins, his championship belt will reside in S.Africa. The only scummy thing here is you defending Israel who had a racist rant towards Du Plessis & trying to justify it by taking Du Plessis words out of context.Let’s ignore the rest
“Did those belts go to Africa?”
Very clear implication here. Pretty scummy of him
Oh heavens no, what a scummy meany face, asking if the belts went to Africa. Brb ripping all my DDP posters from my moms RV that I live inLet’s ignore the rest

Who cares about the interest / revenue of that fight?
Fact is that DDP and Izzy have been irresponsible and immature in dealing with a serious issue that has real world implications.
DDP's comments were tone-deaf, insensitive, a-historical and stupid.
Izzy's reaction has been aggressive, uncontrolled and immature.
The overall result has been that the situation is very divisive, in a time where we need unity.
How will we resolve it? Through violence. Likely we will see Izzy annihilate DDP and get in the face of his bloody TKO'd opponent.. is that a healthy way for the fans to process racial tension / division? I don't think so.
That said, I like Izzy (I'm trying to be a fan) and DDP, I'd like them to come to an understanding before the fight, some things are more important than money.
I think the human race has a hard time with him...he is just disgusting as a human. But I feel like fans here and on YouTube videos always hate on him but then at the press conferences he still gets a lot of applause. I think casual type of fans just like him more because of his antics and stuff whereas people who follower closer don't really like him as much
