Apparently the newsroom leak is leaving RTE open to a fine.

"A newsroom memo that named a sports star in relation to allegations of sexual assault and was leaked and posted on social media has led RTE to notify the Data Protection Commission (DPC) of a data breach.

The DPC confirmed the notification from RTE and said it fell within the EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), leaving the national broadcaster open to a fine."

I guess this means the leaked photo that names McGregor is legit?

I'm from Ireland, living in Dublin. As everyone else from Ireland has said, these rumours have been circulating since the incident happened. I just want to say, we Irish love a good story. Gossip is a massive part of everyday life in Ireland, and stories tend to become far removed from the truth. I would take most of the What's App messages and other rumours with a picogram of salt.

Not defending McGregor, by the way. Innocent until proven guilty. But if he is guilty, may he rot.

MgGregor should not go around with all the 'Im a Big man' trash talk before a fight when he then can't back it up in the cage. In that context tapping out was taking the easy way out and he was absolutely smashed.

It may only be from my perception, but beyond the first round KO's, it was the most one sided and brutal mauling I've seen. Just my opinion but also shared by many far more knowledgable and more neutral commentators than me like Joe Rogan and many others.

I feel your opinion may be bit biased here. I don't think anyone in here wouldn't have tapped to that neck crank. I think if it was most other fighters, most of the MMA community would agree there is no shame in tapping instead of having your jaw broken.

I don't think Rogan said it was the most one sided beat down ever seen, he did say everyone calling him a pussy would tap if he himself put them in a similar neck crank. We've seen Khabib maul people way worse than that. In fact Conor didn't take too much damage comparatively to others, he was defending very well in the early rounds. His ego or nerves seemed to make him try walk khabib down instead of walk him onto a punch like his team wanted him to. Khabib also lost the first round of his career.

Arguably that was khabibs least one sided victory in his career.

I agree with you it was dominant and that Mcgregors a scumbag. He's potentially a rapist also and real men don't rape, I agree with you there too. Although, it's unfair to say he doesn't fight like a man.

Anyways, this thread is now going around in circles as there is very little new evidence or fact based opinion available. Like others I now suspect that there is a Super Injunction on UK media, on top of Irish media's own laws that those accused of rape cannot be named unless found guilty. But in this era of digital media, both of those constraints will soon be broken so we'll just have to wait til then.

However, the Nevada commission will release its khabib post fight antics report next week, which will thrust Mcgregor back into mainstream news, so that will probably bill over into some public press allegations.

Should be interesting, I'd be very surprised if someone in the US media doesn't at least alude to it. I don't think they would be held to the same standards as UK and Irish media. Can anyone confirm if said potential superinjunction would potentially extend to the US?

As we all know, people who chase money and fame often find it an incredibly empty vacuous world full of hassle and negativity. He comes across as an angry and unhappy person nowadays. I'd like to see him return to the great fighter and martial artist that inspired thousands to follow the martial arts path, but IF he is guilty then he needs to go to jail
