More directed at the parents and older people around. Do people in urban areas really think they can endorse life like this (after 17-18 years old especially) and be taken seriously (outside the joke media) for their complaints about their plight? These people will rob the store you open up in their neighborhood. Won't they? The gas station? Do people that live in harder urban areas understand why there aren't any nice stores? Do they think it's somebody else's fault? Is the media letting a select few that act similar to this get rich and be famous to continue to hold down urban culture? Because it's pathetic. The KKK is pathetic. This is pathetic. Equally. BTW, there was white trash in the trailer parks that was similar to this when I was growing up.. As a 14 year old smoker I was familiar with it. But it wasn't a cultural thing, it was an individual family decay thing. It was hidden, for obvious reasons, and it wasn't all that common. But it was there. To be fair. Oh, but not with the guns..

I smoked in the bathroom. I smoked when I was 13, actually. There were fights, but nobody ever talked about shooting anybody when it was over. Nobody got shot in my neighborhood. Not once. There is teen culture, that is supposed to stay completely separate from adult culture. I see that changing now in the suburbs as well, but that is the way it was, and a big difference.

13 year olds may have went into unlocked cars and stole change and CDs in my neighborhood.. But they did not graduate to car jacking at 15-16. None of them.

WTF is with your prejiduce against "urban areas?" I suspect TS is using the word "urban" as code for the N-word.

The FACT is you're more likely to be shot/murdered in a rural area than in a urban area, look it up. I could post plenty of photos of "country folk" being irresponsible with their kids when it comes to guns, drugs and alcohol.

Having lived in both my experience is that teenagers in poor rural areas do more drugs, drink more excessively and are far more likely to be armed than their city counterparts. The mistake most make is comparing middle class rural POOR people in the city. Apples and oranges.

I figure they are sad, or need something from me. I don't really mind.. Strange as that sounds.

Up until recently, this school had really decent bar passage. Last two rounds have sucked, which resulted in the school actually being sold. Funny, it actually got criticized more when the bar passage rates weren't all that terrible. It is not a true "bottom rung" school, because of the mass alumni and amount of successful people that have come out of here, but it's not very prestigious either. Cooley was, in fact, accepting too many people. It started to behave like a lot of undergrad colleges and became just a sales business, which is tempting for any entity doing any kind of business, from my experience. So yeah, the school sucks a little, but it's the same curriculum as other schools, and it is now Western MI, which is a respected University. I'm personally paying less, and I can easily commute. I really had no other choice beside UDM. There has been multiple cars stolen from there this year, and we are getting transfers from there as a result.
