Facing easier competition in UFC

He beat Prime Maia worse than Weidman did. Completely outgrappled Dong.
Prime Maia? Bro just stop lmao you're being silly 😭

And stun gun? Again lmao man. Even you can't back up your point, you got two wins and they're an old guy and another old guy that literally retired afterwards.

We can do this on any human beings who ever fought. As a matter of fact, Colby fought better competition than Khabib ever did.

And because we can do that, I don't tend to get into argument about who fought whom when at where. Because we can all nitpick at this or there to reach a certain conclusion.

Colby, as much as he went full retard and went over the line, and as much as I don't care for the guy as a person, was a great welterweight. I rate Usman as the second best, and Colby and Leon are somewhere below around each other. Skillswise.

No you can TRY to do it with any fighter if you're being a hater. But the deeper the fighters resume the more ridiculous you look doing it. He doesn't have a resume of great wins. Even you can't find thexse great wins. I asked in good faith and you listed two old guys near the end of their careers. You didn't list his wins over ranked competitors in their prime because they do not exist and you know this.

This really isn't a productive endeavour, because like mentioned before, it's something that can be very subjective, especially in hindsight.

Colby was a great fighter. I don't like Colby, why you making me keep saying it man....

Almost everything is subjective or has some degree of subjectivity to it, but that doesn't mean you just give up on using a logical process to arrive at your conclusions. Man you're really gonna make me do this. Sigh ok here we go, I will start from the Kim fight because it's his first ufc fight of any significance.

Kim: 35+ at the time of the fight, retired after

Maia: Was nearly 40 going into the fight. And you referred to this as a win over "Prime Maia" I don't know if you're trolling or what here lmao

RDA: Years past his prime, undersized at ww. This was still a fairly close win for Colby as well.

Lawler: Was nearly 40 and far past his best, was on a losing streak going into this fight and continued to lose after.

Woodley: Was on a losing streak and visibly and rapidly declining. Lost his next fight after this as well and was cut.

Masvidal: Again old and past his prime. Was on a losing streak, and lost his next fight after Colby.

And that's all the wins since anyone's ever heard of Colby. If you like, feel free to throw in his wins over legends Max Griffin or Mike Pyle, if you feel like that helps for some reason.

🤷‍♂️

Thanks for the work, but like I said it's all context dependant and hindsight is 20/20.

Maia closed as a favourite against Colby. You left out Maia was 7-1 before Colby fight then 3-1 after. Only losing to prime Woodley and Usman.

You also left out that Dong was 7-1 before fighting Colby after that freak injury against Maia. 35 yo at WW isn't that bad. Belal is 36 years old. Kim didn't retire because he couldn't perform, it was because he was making a lot of money outside it back home.

After losing to Khabib who was beating everybody, RDA was 8-2 before fighting Colby. Colby was only a slight favourite against RDA.

You know, it really looks like you really want to discredit what Colby has accomplished as a fighter, and I don't really care if you wanna do that.

But I saw him come up the rank with my own eyes and he was a hell of a fighter. And really, truly, I don't think I have it in me to further defend a guy that I don't even like.

Colby was great though. If you can't see that, agree to disagree.

Patchy Mix is asking for his release from Bellator so hopefully we'll see him soon.

If he is available along with potentially Nemkov, Patricio, Amosov, Norbert Novenyi and KSW 135 champ Jakub Wiklacz then it's a pretty banging time for free agents they could pick up.

I think Pitbull is cooked, but would love to see fights like Mix vs....well I don't think Mix is beating Merab but he's really good and the list goes on. A lot of great fighters that UFC can pick up for sure.

I do personally wish Nemkov would drop back down but apparently can't, oh well...

i think Chandler is a bigger name than Pitbull. Also more marketable, all-american looks, the way he can communicate in English and so on. I just feel like he's on the wrong side of the age bracket, and don't know if UFC will make him a competitive offer.
Thats probably the reason the UFC were never interested in Pitbull, not marketable enough, getting paid in Bellator so he would be expensive, its not like he wasnt a good fighter, he has beaten Chandler, being a good fighter is not always enough.

yeah tbf to chandler, i wouldn't quite be so sure if pitbull at lw is better than chandler prime for prime, it was a flash knock down, but he in his prime was a skilled, elite fighter at fw. he's really good, but not only does he not have mainstream popularity, his best days are past him.

hopefully he comes to ufc, but not sure if ufc will make it happen...

he really shouldn't have taken that rizin fight so soon after pettis fight...

like i saw that chandler is fighting arman, and chandler right now is completely washed up and a joke rly, but in his prime, he's really a tough out for grapplers, high level wrestler, power in his hands, super athletic, chin, cardio, and really good sub defense. man time flies too, i remember him coming up the ranks, and he's just one of the best stepping stones, if even that, around now....
