Well, I can agree that some take it too far. Lord knows I've given the "'Kill Bill' would be considered 'woke', and Tarantino would be getting destroyed by some today" example a million times. This is it in a nutshell. When your woke identity politics is at the forefront of everything you do, to the point you don’t even spend anytime trying to make a good story, good writing etc or you are so entrenched in your woke nonsense that it directly and very negatively affects the things that make a good entertainment product - again, the story, the writing, the casting etc etc - the result is the guff we repeatedly get now and that audiences are ignoring en masse.
