Evloev fight is why you should never

brah Lopes is first of all not a bum and he was fuking hungry coming into this fight.. Lopes is a dog

Obviously volk smashes him, but by the time he's ready volk will be on his way out.

Yeah but so what? You can also say, you can't dismiss a guy with 10 losses, like Oliveira

Some guys are can crushers and you can't tell that they really suck, other can crushers are actually really good and you can't tell how good they are.
You can’t really call someone who has a double digit win streak in the LW division a can crusher. It’s incredibly hard to win that consistently, even against “sub par” competition. This Evloev W won’t look like much, Lopes seems like a can, but he’s not. Same with Islam, he beat many guys that could’ve easily given him a much harder time.

Yes his ground game is legit. He did look a bit clueless on the feet though. Poor movement, didn’t circle out once, moved in straight lines. He needs serious work on his striking. If I’m Evloev and I fight him again, I keep it standing.
hes the bjj coach of a few UFC fighters, thats maybe why he got the fight
I am not sure but I heard something about 15 days or something

Lopes looks good man, has a lot of intangibles at FW.

I don’t know why people can’t just give Lopes credit instead of just overlooking his performance to bash Evloev.

No way, but I think Zombie could be a good call. Giga or Josh Emmett would be good match ups also I think.

He looks in terrific condition and probably has a gas tank for days but he doesn't really have any finishing ability as of yet.

He's pretty skilled and technical, well rounded but he lacks power and I think his chin isn't that great either.

That punch that rocked him early probably KOs most guys. I think his chin is pretty damn good.

Also his ability to withstand a fully-locked-in submission is 2nd only to Tony Ferguson

Any legit win is a good win, but when rating/ranking the top guys, quality just weighs a lot more than quantity, IMO.

So yes, a long winning streak is inpressive, but when you want to be considered in GOAT talks, a lack of high ranked guys is not really made up by a long winning streak against lower level guys, IMO. You can make relatively safe assumptions that other GOAT candidates could pad their records more, if they wanted to. But you can't as safely assume someone would win against elite opposition. So proof of wins against elite competition just outweighs a winning streak largely against lower level guys.

he has time to improve still. Volk is better, but Movsaev needs to get into some tougher fights and work on correcting some of his defficiencies. Ive never been impressed by his striking defense, and his jitsu needs to improve. His cardio looked much much better though, he was calm out there.

He's super slow standing and doesn't have much power. His pressure and volume on the feet is good and he's not sloppy technically but pretty basic and hittable. His wrestling is good but guys like Lentz and Grundy could largely match it so you gotta assume when he faces better athletes with good takedown defense and reliable cardio he will struggle. I'd love to see someone like Arnold Allen vs Evloev, even Kattar, Bryce, Sodiq would be good.

Lopes also had about 4 inches on Movsar. He looked nearly a weight class bigger.

He has very slick jits. Nearly caught Movsar on multiple occasions. But his Achilles heel, like many BJJ guys, is he's way too accepting of being on his back. Even though he had the bigger moments, the judges will almost always reward GnP strikes over submission attempts.

He's a good fighter, but Volk drowns this guy with ease.
I wouldn’t jump to conclusions, fighters sometimes look bad fighting short notice opposition. He also did most of his camp during Ramadan. I’d say the circumstances for this fight weren’t optimal for Evloev.

Lopes beat him. I also believe Lopes is a top 5 FW in the world rn. Also, Bryce would have took a shit down Evleov's throat LOL

The org is a lot more important than the division. You can find guys in any division that are can crushers. You just haven't heard of most of them because no one's scouting them. But they're out there, waiting to be exposed.
