He has holes in his game, but he is only 26 years old. You're supposed to have holes in your game at that age.He knocks out that level of competition. But I honestly don't see him taking out Shankar (if healthy) or even Ian Garry tbh.
And as soon as he loses a fight all the people praising him here will say he "was never that good" and "got exposed" cause be "always had holes in his game"
Or he could be a bigger Thomas Almeida or even worse the next Brandon Thatch. He has holes in his game, but he is only 26 years old. You're supposed to have holes in your game at that age.
Kid could have another decade ahead of him
Very well could be!Or he could be a bigger Thomas Almeida or even worse the next Brandon Thatch.
I joke a bitLOL, GSP 50-45’s both of them.
I don’t recall anyone putting GSP on his back so I could see him get a shutout. I can understand the recency bias because Islam is dominating at the moment but GSP is bigger, more athletic, explosive with super high fight IQ and Islam struggled mightily with little Volk.I joke a bit
But you cant possibly be serious about gsp getting 5 rounds vs Islam
Not even close to that,at best 3-2
Kos held him down for almost a full round in their first fight, besides Hendricks basically nullified his wrestling also.Islam can do the same,he is far better grappler then bothI don’t recall anyone putting GSP on his back so I could see him get a shutout. True. Koschek got him down in their first meeting in the very first round, but then GSP adjusted and dominated the rest of the fight. But that was right after the Matt Sara, upset and I would say GSP was a bit timid in that one, and also had not yet hit his full prime yet.Kos held him down for almost a full round in their first fight, besides Hendricks basically nullified his wrestling also.Islam can do the same,he is far better grappler then both
I can see it going both ways really
Sure i myself would hold GSP at 170 to beat anyone, might give him slight edge vs Islam, just feel like Islam has a good chance to win tooOf course, styles make fights and we’re just speculating right now, but I would love to see it and if I had to bet, I would go with peak GSP over anyone 170 lbs or lighter.
The fight to make vs Islam, fuck the Marty rumor
Yeah, maybe maybe not, but unlike Makhachev and St Pierre, Khamzat has not yet stood the test of time and proven he can consistently beat every style of opponent. He’s fought two good grapplers so far in his career, one of them much smaller and both of them past their prime, and he lost a round in both of those fights. Maybe he’s improved a lot since then but I need to see him make a few title defenses before putting him in GSP/Makhachev level.Sure i myself would hold GSP at 170 to beat anyone, might give him slight edge vs Islam, just feel like Islam has a good chance to win too
Honestly i could only favor Khamzat over GSP,though at 170 he would be very drained and i think if he doesnt do enough damage or subs GSP in 2 rounds he would lose
At 185 i have no doubt Khamzat wins
The shadow of Nate's hand cloaking Conor's head always fuckin gets me

Khamzat struggled with Burns at 170, the best he could do is hope for a 10-8 first round before he gets the absolute brakes beaten off him at 170 by GSP.Sure i myself would hold GSP at 170 to beat anyone, might give him slight edge vs Islam, just feel like Islam has a good chance to win too

Khamzat has beaten tough match ups, with his wrestling there's no limit really regarding styles, dont know what you mean by past prime. He didnt beat Rob standing but with wrestling/bjj where being prime or not doesnt really matter, you dont forget how to wrestle and grapple.Same goes for other guys.Yeah, maybe maybe not, but unlike Makhachev and St Pierre, Khamzat has not yet stood the test of time and proven he can consistently beat every style of opponent.
