Ever drive drunk?

I used to a lot when I used to drink. The "designated driver" would be whoever didn't already have a drunk driving. And we did things intentionally that made it all the more dangerous. How embarrassing looking back. We could have killed innocent people. A family with kids even. So much of what I thought made someone a pussy or a man was completely twisted.

At 21 one of my best friends died riding passenger with someone else running from the cops on a motorcycle. A year later I got into a fight that cost me a year of my life in jail. There is a lot more i could add but the point would be the same. It takes a man to turn over your keys when you are drunk, to walk away from a fight, or to put the feelings of the people you love above yourself. I thank God for sparing my stupid ass who knows how many times.

All it takes is one bad decision to destroy your life and the lives of others. And nothing you do will ever be able to take it back. Next time you get in the car after drinking, don't think "can I drive well enough not to get pulled over?" but think "what if i hit someone, is it worth the risk?"

I live in the Los Angeles area, went down to Tijuana with a friend for the day ...

He drove, his car. So naturally I indulged.

All Day Tequila shots and beer, whores on tap , having a blast like there's no tomorrow .

Then My buddy lays it on me that he just can't make the drive home. And I sure as shit don't want to spend the night in a den of thieves.

So I take the Keys and drive us home.

From the Border of Mexico to the Orange County/LA County Border.


This same incident played out several times over my drunken career.

Another Similar incident had me driving home from an SDSU sorority party . The Actual driver couldn't hang , I was three sheets to the wind but didn't want to sleep on the frat house lawn and get arrested. so away we go...

I don't drink and drive anymore, actually don't drink that much in general .

ill be really drunk in about 3 hours

When I was younger I drove drunk on more than one occasion. Not really drunk, but definitely impaired. Then, an ex-girlfriend of mine was hit and killed by a drunk driver, and I decided I was never going to be that guy.

Now I'm even careful not to drive too tired, that's just as dangerous.
 
Doing it right the hell now. Unrelated, anybody got a light?
 
I've driven only once where I was definitely drunk. Felt like a dickhead the next day, havent done it since.

I'm sure there have been a couple times where I may have risked blowing over .05, but only a couple times and only just barely, if at all.

The guilt I'd be saddled with would crush me, I just couldn't risk it being the fragile flower I am.

What do you consider drunk? Were you like double vision , barfing and staggering drunk?

For me drunk driving is anything over 3 beers because that's all it takes to get busted
 
Driving drunk shall only be permitted when:

A. There's an emergency

B. You need cigarettes

C. You're out of beer

Outside of those three things you're just asking for a new bumper.

When you have to cover one eye to see straight is the best. Or when you absolutely KNOW you drive better when you're drunk.
 
I have once or twice when I definitely shouldn't have, along with on pills. but after only 2/3 beers then yes I do, never over that though. I drive stoned daily

yeah i've had times i've driven tired where i'm nodding off and i think to myself "damn, this is worse than drunk driving"
 
Did this guy seriously just post a video of himself committing a crime to prove a point to a bunch of people on sherdog?
 
Never. If I do drink, I wait til the buzz wears off. Unfortunatley my friends do this too often. They drive blown, drunk or the mixture of the two. I've ridden with them and their driving is hardly impaired and they drive manuals of all transmissions.
