Watched it today. Definitely not your typical Marvel movie, weakest by far, but still decent enough. Couple of head scratching deaths, and I didn't like what they did with the Deviants.

Ridloff was great in the film. Her charisma and performance were on point. And the effects for Makkari were awesome.
Druig was really solid too. I wondered where I knew that actor from. Took me looking him up to realize he was the kid who is with Mark Rylance and his son as part of the civilian rescue crew going to help stranded soldiers in Dunkirk.

I'm not going to lie, I actually quite enjoyed this movie. I gave it a 7 but I feel as though I could bump that up a half point at least and be fine with it. There were some real drawbacks but I am a sucker for comic book stable movies. And I actually thought some of the team coordination action scenes were good.

I really enjoyed the action setpiece in the Amazon for instance.
And I thought when Ridloff was going ham in the attack on Ikaris- that was awesome. That whole sequence really. One thing I liked about it was Kumail made that point that even if he contributed, they'd be no match for Ikaris but, in reality, they were more than holding their own when it was Makkari, Phastos and Thena against him.

Most of the cast did a solid job in my view.

I don't know why this movie is getting hammered , I enjoyed it well enough.

I saw it for the first time today on Disney plus. I enjoyed it. I thought it was pretty good. I'm not sure why the poor reviews.

Just finished it. Druig was my favorite wish he was in it more. The speedster fight scenes were sick. Id give it a 6.5 out of ten.

Watched it last night with my son and his friend. I agree with you all, it was a good solid movie. I'm not sure what all the hate for it is about? I knew nothing about the Eternals before this movie. Glad to see 'new' characters introduced to the MCU.

The story was good. The action was good. The acting was decent. Special effects were good (though my one gripe was the CGI of the Deviants wasn't great).

Anyway, I gave it a solid 7/10. I'll go back and rewatch it when I have time, though it is a bit long for a rewatch so soon.

Just watched it last night on Disney+. Giving it a 6. Some interesting characters and solid performances but I found the plot to be a bit of a mess and probably the worst villains in a Marvel movie that I can recall.

Eternals sucked. Whoever wrote the dialogue should choose a diff profession. Story also sucked. Characters not likeable.

If Starfox is an Eternal and is Thanos' bro, I guess Thanos is also an Eternal. Is Icarus a bad guy in the comics? Is Phastos gay in the comics? Is the fast girl deaf in the comics? Who was the voice in the post credits Black Knight scene? What are Black Knight's powers?

I look forward to watching this at home on Disney+. I'm going to try and go in with an open mind. I think the only MCU movies I haven't watched in theaters due to them not being interesting to me are Thor 2, Dr. Strange and Guardians of the Galaxy. Regret not seeing the last 2 in theaters.

If you already have Disney+, which would be a WORSE choice to watch between this and Hawkeye?

And is it worth slogging through Hawkeye for the Dinofrio cameo?

Hawkeye would be worse. This is better than hawkeye. Hawkeye is like a kids mystery show. This movie is pretty entertaining with some cool characters.

Hawkeye by a mile.

Hawkeye is pretty good. Eternals is pretty bad.

Man I love marvel but damn it hard to like this one. Their powers are so underwhelming and expressed so lazily. Wtf did they really do that to the guy from "train to Busan" . I love that giy and he was the best character of the lot. This is a result of trying to introduce too many characters. Kit Harrington was so laughably under used and bland. And Omg FINGER GUNS! I DIED LAUGHING. Druid seemed like the most powerful character while Ikarus is just beta Hyperion.
The climax was so underwhelming zap zap ....over.

Thanos is an Eternal with the Deviant gene. His mother tried to kill him when he was born.
