News ESPN offered Helwani a pay cut during contract negotiations

Ariel hasn't left his house or covered a event live & direct in over a year. He has burned a lot of his bridges interviewing fighters and his only notable as of late are from Paradigm who Ariel may/may not be represented by Paradigm in itself. ESPN is going to pay a guy like that hundreds to millions for what he offers.

Holy fuck imagine not happy making $475,000 instead of $500,000. Oh, the agony.

I don't think pay was the reason for leaving unless I skimmed too much to gather that but still. The "gotta get your money" line shouldn't apply to this level of income lol.

I doubt he gets more than that on these betting platforms network, but what do i know
most confident that they will pay him more. If anything, they pay him to boost credibility.

Someone else offered a pay raise. He wouldn't leave ESPN just to be spiteful. He is getting a better deal or better opportunity.

He was totally a shill until Dana dumped his ass, he carried their water for years. Fuck him and his crying ass.

He was being somewhat objective about them much longer than he was shilling.

while doing his new gig, he will do bellator as a side job mark my words, lol it will be his way of saying fuck you dana.

I dont think so, there are youtubers that make more, and Ariel did a good job building their channel. His pay should be increasing.....

YouTube sports coverage is superior to what you get on ESPN and other TV networks these days.

ESPN thrives on fake drama.

If you actually want technical breakdowns of stick and ball sports that aren't dumbed down for the lowest common denominator, you have to go to YouTube.

I hate to say this but my dog can ask better questions than this guy and is more cute also

Journalists are parasites basically. They are a little bit more useful than ring girls and ring announcers but still they pretty much do nothing significant.

Ask questions to fighters and write their opinions somewhere. In that case even us should get paid for posting our wonderful and knowledgeable opinions here.
And they don’t even ask critical questions or do any kind of actual of opinion pieces that contradict company line.. they’re basically talking heads for ESPN and by extension the UFC.. so basically useless... see the first question jabba the hutt looking fella from the press conferences for reference

what on earth.. who would take a pay cut to do the same job??! Id walk too

He gets paid more than most fighters, greedy prick think he is worth more than he is

It's not being greedy if someone is offering more. It's called not being a dumbass and taking the best opportunity. It's not like the article said he demanded $1mil annually.

Happy for this man for wanting to make his money. But him nor any other journalist in this world are worth 500k. All they do is report shit people do or leak shit that's either false/half truths or leak stuff that wasn't suppose to come out quite yet.
I mean actual journalist doing real journalism (of which there are almost zero left) .. sure pay them.. but Ariel and the UFC cheerleaders that call themselves journos nowadays? Nah

I dont think so, there are youtubers that make more, and Ariel did a good job building their channel. His pay should be increasing.....
Well it was NOT.. So hope he has a better offer... Otherwise dumb to leave..

500,000 might look like good money, but if he can make more somewhere else then good for him.

You guys gotta understand that he basically has zero content that he owns himself. All his works (Podcast, interview, hot take shows) are owned by ESPN, so if the money is not good enough he should walk.

Sad that now we are left with only UFC shills in ESPN but it is what it is.

Where would he get as much or more than ESPN?
