ESPN: GSP-Condit is Fight of the year

Already being discussed in much greater detail in another thread.
 
It was a great fight... but KZ/Poirier and Varner/Lauzon had more ebb and flow.

yes it was, great showcase for skill and heart, a hard test to GSP, Condit almost had it at one point, a true championship contest
 
Awesome fight.

ESPN picked a very solid choice for fight of the year. Definately top 3.

I'm sure there was a couple of other better fights.

I'm thinking fight/fighter profile plays a factor in their decision (higher the profile fight/fighter the better).
 
Still think KZ/Poirier should have got it.

Still a good fight though.
 
They r idiots. That was a good fight but there were better. The morons probably went back only 2 months.
 
Was a good un GSP closer to be finished in a long time... still felt Condit just turned up for the payslip tbh, felt he was holding back.

There were other fights that were better though :)
 
I usually hate watching GSP fight, and I thought that was a really good fight.

Some other contenders were Shogun vs. Vera, and Lauzon vs. Varner.

I'd have to agree, you're talking about the Number 1 WW (and top 3 P4P) fighter coming off a year layoff and possibly career ending injury against a beast of a challenger. The fact that Condit pushed him farther than any in the past 5 years means a lot.

With the GSP fight, that was my top 3.

Any of those 3 fights is a good choice, it comes down to personnal choice.

I personaly agree with ESPN, GSP Condit was extraordinary.
