Opinion Elon Musk says FEMA sent $59M last week to luxury NYC hotels to house illegal migrants. Edit: see bottom of the OPs

Looks like paid after Trump's freeze. And you are correct two hotels are mainly being used. The others are govt owned like schools etc. They don't need an excuse to let someone go as President. But yeah looks like the payment was made after Trump put the freeze.
The freeze that was blocked by the courts? If so what's wrong with that? If anything Trump is the one trying to defy court orders and bringing us to the precipice of a constitutional crisis.

No one’s arguing that point you ding dong.

He's also just wrong, but that hasn't stopped him before. Dude literally posts Benny Johnson and RT as a source, he's fully subverted by foreign propaganda.

Can I Still Apply for Asylum Even if I Am in the United States Illegally?

Yes. You may apply for asylum with USCIS regardless of your immigration status if:

  • You are not currently in removal proceedings
  • You file an asylum application within 1 year of arriving to the United States or demonstrate that you are within an exception to that rule.

Latest Position from FEMA being eliminated was made over more payments made to illegal migrants.

NYC Mayor Adams stopped all aid going to non-citizens since the new administration arrived.

Head of FEMA was fired, she must have thought Elon wasn't being serious.

“I would make sure that there is- that we immediately surge the border. All those people seeking asylum, they deserve to be heard. That’s who we are. We are a nation that says if you want to flee, if you’re fleeing oppression then you should come.”

It’s not illegal to seek asylum, doing so is protected by both national and international law. I didn’t hear him advocating for people to come in illegally.
No he just said he was opening up the borders for asylum seekers to just come on in and surge the border. That outcome cost you guys the election but you’re still carrying that wster

Looks like. They should have let someone know beforehand though. But yes. Seems like

He is only seeing payments. Its why I also agreed. The people apparently were fired after paying this which means it likely was paid last week after Trump put a freeze on it. The 59M payment was there. It is supposed to be disaster relief but congress opened it up (ssp) to include migrants which is why it was allocated to Fema.
the trump freeze was illegal, the courts have agreed. Every statement in Musks tweet was a lie, other than the fact that a payment was made last week. Literally every other word of that post is a lie. Do you like when people lie to you? bold manipulative lies

I'm not sure what you're saying here, who should have let someone know beforehand? I don't think we're looking at people making honest mistakes here, Musk and Trump are making overt power grabs under constitutionally dubious circumstances and the courts are trying to rein them in.

Surely you think the POTUS should obey orders by the court right?

The person in charge of the payouts. Listen, I was acting COO at one point in a manufacturing company where the owner was the president. There were a lot of govt regulations that occasionally pause production and at times the owner would decide to buck them while we were waiting approval. I was over operations so I needed to keep things running and people getting paid but if I would def ask before going against what he wanted. If the govt slapped us that's on him as it's his decision.

No, it seems pretty clear based on the entire context and not the chopped up bit you keep trying to pass around as the truth, that he says "we should immediately surge the border", not that the migrants should immediately surge to the border. We, as in the federal government.

Idk if it's fair to blame the person following the court order over the president defying the court order. We have the courts to keep the executive within the bounds of the Constitution and as much as Trump and those in the his corner might disagree with this at the end of the day civil servants take an oath to the Constitution, not the president.

Again, I understand the balance of following the courts (govt) and appeasing the person at the top (owner). I am not doing anything unless I check with him on something like that. Once it's documented that he made a decision be it court order or not then I'm going with it and letting him deal with it. Of course politics are at play here in the decisions made but none of this is surprising. Again, how something like a court order gets resolved isn't on me. It's on the leader to deal with those things. If I decide that I'm going to just do something without checking I'm expecting some fallout. If it's a moral conundrum then I'm likely just walking away. But govt disputes aren't something I'm getting in the middle of.
