Opinion Elon Musk says FEMA sent $59M last week to luxury NYC hotels to house illegal migrants. Edit: see bottom of the OPs

Yep. Unless you're mocking them, don't give them the time of day. They're cultists. All the people who believe that they argue in good faith, will be absolutely stunned when they start insulting them again in the future over some minor detail that they want to make the entire argument about, and going "I didn't think _____ was really like that".

Don't entertain their idiocy. Just mock them and let them fade into obscurity like the bitter losers they are.

Yup. And that is exactly what Trump needs to do right now with several judges trying to stop his agenda. Just say no, force their hand to apppeals and Supreme Court or whatever, make a big deal of it, and push the issue to the forefront.

The moral and intellectual high ground is on Trump’s side. Force their hand and call their bluff. Let them argue to the public that just one city needs ten billion dollar to fix a problem they created themselves.

Perfect politicking

See what I mean with these idiots? "What did he do differently?" the moron asked, as if Biden's administration didn't completely obliterate the previous records for illegal immigration.

Must've just been a weird coincidence...
funny how you can't answer the question, but are very confident that you know the answer.

Don't worry doge will spent it wisely.

What do you think about the 50 billion of USIAD? I have heard that 44 billion, 6 billion less, could end world hunger.

Why is there world hunger currently, If easily eliminated with 44 billion, yet they want to sponsor drag shows and other wasteful spending?

I'm glad to see that billions of dollars have been wasted by uncle Sam in multiple departments.

Makes me excited to pay taxes.

The crisis at the border is due to state collapse in Haiti and Venezuela as well as escalating political and gang violence across Central America. That's why so many with TPS are from Haiti and Venezuela.

That's part of the reason, but all the pro-immigration people like to make it some black and white "it's only because of this" when that is far from the case.

It's complicated and nuanced. The state collapses had a lot to do with it but ALSO Biden's lax policies.

It's not an either or situation. It's all of those reasons. And Biden didn't have to open the door for those people, but he did.

Stop trying to excuse Biden's disastrous policies.

You can criticize Biden for how he reacted to those crises, after all managing crises both foreign and domestic is part of the job, but I think too often the immigration debate assumes that US policy is the primary driver of immigration trends rather than wider regional factors that tend to get ignored.

His policies in part created the crises. He instituted a retarded catch and release policy where people who illegally cross the U.S.-Mexican border are released rather than detained. A judge eventually struck this policy down as violating U.S. immigration law.

Biden also got rid of the Title 42 policy, which had previously been allowed U.S. authorities to expel migrants quickly back to Mexico if they came illegally.

Biden basically created an open border. People who came illegally get released into the country with a future court date years into the future. People from certain countries got TPS and have an entire year to apply for asylum.

So basically there is ZERO deterrent to people coming here illegally.

Biden did that under the false belief that lax border policies will garner a lot of votes from the Latino population.

what did biden do differently? "immigration" has been a major issue my entire life. When a dem is in power fox news and republicans scream about caravans of immigrants for 4 years. When a right wing weirdo is in power all of a sudden it's not that big of a deal.

He instituted policies policies that significantly exacerbated the crisis at the border.

1. Instituted catch and release policies incentivizing more and more people to illegally immigrate - because there was no deterrent anymore.
2. Got rid of Title 42
3. Completely halted construction of border wall even though there were hundreds of millions in materials that got wasted
4. Got rid of the “Remain in Mexico” program where asylum seekers had to wait in Mexico.
5. Got rid of Prompt Asylum Claim Review (PACR), which applied to non-Mexican nationals, and the Humanitarian Asylum Review Process. Both programs facilitated an expedited removal process if a person did not qualify for asylum.
6. Completely scrapped a 2019 asylum agreement we signed with Guatemala, Honduras and El Salvador.

Everyone knows that Lincoln's soft stance on asylum was to blame, not the Irish Potato Famine.

It's just amazing the blinders people have about why humans are willing to risk it all and move thousands of miles with no guarantee of success.

It's quite telling that you aren't even claiming the legal high ground is on Trump's side. Because you want a dictator as long as you think they're on your side.

We use it where I work as well as a background check and we are just retail.
Retail isn't as big for illegals because of the language barrier unless it is local hispanic business like grocery store or hair salon. The industries that will get affected are farming, livestock, food processing/butchering, construction/renovation, manufacturing/warehouse, restaurants, delivery and agencies that send out cleaners to different places like Target, Walmart, malls and business parks.

It is the elephant in the room. Our country runs on exploited labor. Big businesses in blue and red states give too much to politicians. Politicians aren't going to touch this topic. Even Trump himself has used illegal workers for construction gigs. Illegals had a hand in building Trump tower during the 80s. Trump had to settle a lawsuit for using that labor. Illegals were also working at his golf clubs until Trump got called out.

Hey friend- if I can offer a piece of Advice you should say, “yeah, spending 6 figures to send politicians to the Super Bowl is bad. Now, what about USAID, world hunger, drag shows, etc?”

It keeps stoned and smug assholes such as myself from pointing out the whataboutisms you’re playing with.

As a sign of good faith that I’m being sincere- I will like 5 posts on your behalf while you’re on dubs. Just tag me and I’ll press the button

What does being a sanctuary city have to do with anything? That just means state officials don’t cooperate with federal officials on immigration. All of these were legal asylum seekers that were thrown onto buses by other states and dumped on blue states with no plan or consideration. If you do shit like that, don’t complain about how much it costs later.

It's fucking pathetic that this is what gets attention. These are all distractions while the wealthy destroy all the institutions that help out the working class. Why isn't that getting more attention? I'll tell you why. It's because all of right-wing media has decided to flood the media with bullcrap stores like:

-shrimp on a treadmill

- money spent on newspapers

- illegals in 5 star hotels

This was actually a strategy that was laid out by some in Project 2025 and even Steve Bannon. The idea is that you overwhelm the system and media by throwing out story after story while the real damage is happening behind the scenes. This topic already has hundreds of responses while the administration ignoring court orders and Musk slashing programs that help Americans financially gets barely any attention. It's working by design and you guys are falling for it all. Wake up. Even if this is true (have trouble believing it since other ones were lies) I wouldn't disagree with it because its better than being on the streets.

funny how you can't answer the question
He literally encouraged border crossings on Day 1 and hamstringed his own border agents at every turn, that were trying to prevent them from coming into the country.

The guy told Texas that they couldn't even use barb wire fences.

There's your answer, dipshit.
