No Spoilers Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree DLC

It is up, I just preordered.

I can't believe I did another run after saying I never would on this damn DLC and you know what? My opinion hasn't changed.

The final boss of it
Radahn
was not only stupid lore-wise, but mechanically as well. Fuck that boss' face and the neck it rode in on. The
2nd phase
is just flashy and not fun at all. I'm lucky I managed it with a damn Colossal Hammer.

When I think of what Hidetaka gave us in Old Hunters, I’m expecting an immediate ramp-up in difficulty — not an easing in or welcome back kind of thing.

I want to go in strong as a result and with a kit I’m familiar. Faith and Dex served me best in this game so I’ll be a Faith build with my Sacred Nagakiba at my side.

Bleed was my original love in this but I have middling Arcane right now so will respec if I find a new WPN in the vein. Eventually will theorycraft around new armors and such, which is a must IMO to celebrate the expansion.
Haven't got the DLC just yet, don't mind spoilers (many weeks of reading the original ER thread was how I learned the game and decided to try it) so picking up where I left off ITT and just want to say "theorycraft" is a great new word to me and fully agree on trying out new items when offered. Hope you're all enjoying!

Yeah I can't bring myself to play it again lol really wanted my moneys worth for $40. Maybe in a few months.

I'm catching up on TV and other games now but eventually I'll run through all of it with a fresh character next time.

I actually knew about a good amount of these but some cool surprises as well.

Still stuck on Radahn…

As Norm would say - “this guys a real jerk”

I've been brute forcing the entire DLC at ng+6 and hit a brick wall on him.

Thinking "yeah, maybe this is as far as we go. I should come back with a ng or ng+1 playthrough"

Run horizontally
Doesn't work. I've watched other people do that but they never get touched by any of the clones and only have to roll the last attack. I get hit by all of them for some reason.

If I was able to catch it early it seemed to work but yeah, easily my least favorite attack of his.

Been having a lot of fun with the quest run. Amazed at how much content I missed not knowing how to progress these.

Dry Leaf is still fun, using frost on it so it builds up really fast. Still stomping everything in the base game because it’s NG+ but I’m looking forward to taking it into the DLC to see how it stacks up.

Only real drawback is that mounted combat is pretty much nonexistent. I just run by slapping dudes in the back of the head like:

Was doing random stuff like collecting things just to put off fighting Bayle again. Eventually got the courage to fight him again and brought Igon just to complete his quest.

I've never used a summon before and found it not that helpful as it made the boss more difficult to read and react to. So many of Bayle's moves cover such a wide area that i'd still get floored when he attacked Igon.

Got the job done though and will now find some other distractions to avoid Messmer for a while.

that motherfucker didn't want to fight fair so neither will i. brought out my mimic tear and summoned that trash npc. messmer down.

that was my most brutal encounter in this whole damn game. by far. whoever designed that boss fight needs to be castrated. fuck that guy.

probably the most bullshit encounter i can recall out of any souls games so far. screw that guy.

had to mimic cheese commander giaus. now i'm at the erdtree avatar and i'm getting fucked hard. almost ready to rage quit.
