Can you please show me where that link shows the price of eggs specifically over the last 12 months? It may be just my unfamiliarity with the site but I can only find general terms like "food at home."

i never knew that the president was responsible for the price of eggs until the rubes spent a whole election cycle campaigning off of it and making it one of their top issues and talking points.

the everyday cost of living is going to go way up under the trump administration, and they'll have to put their clown shoes back on and start spinning some more and tell everybody to stop being poor and they never cared about the cost of eggs in the first place, or remind us all that the president has no control over the price of groceries, despite all the bitching and campaigning they did in 2024 over "biden's price of eggs."

There is no evidence that egg prices have gone up during Trump's term because there is no data to suggest that would be the case. The OP is using the Jan 15th report when Biden was still in office to attack Trump when he wasn't even in office yet.

If egg prices go up in the next CPI report (that will actually have a time frame where Trump has even been in office) then the thread would at least be based on correct information. The debate can then be that Trump hasn't been in office that long or he has, or that the president has the ability to influence the prices. But until then (Feb 15 according to BLS CPI inflation report schedule) there is literally no point to arguing over it since there is a lack of data.
