Edwards tools Islam

Islam would beat Leon.

He's a better wrestler and a better striker.

Islam will dominate Edwards, extra 15 pounds, more strength and cardio. Islam is a better grappler than Usman, just wait and see. He has a tougher fight in Arman first.
Thank you, saved me the time from having to say this. I don't know why people hate Islam so much.
Islam would get his head snapped back worst then it did against Poirier. Islam looks so beatable yet you think Edwards would struggle…

maybe.

it will be a different version of islam though. minimal cut. UFC will probably fuck over leon and shorten the rehydration window.

and islam is crafty as fuck and very defensively sound. one little scramble and leon could end up darce'd. but by the same token, leon could just keep him on the outside and stuff TDs
Dana White hates Islam and does hype up Edwards they’d do whatever it took to give Leon all the advanced

Leona style alone now is just bad news for islams wrestling striking style.

Would be interesting but I think Leon wins decision or tko

Islam is a better striker, plus he can take Edwards down whenever he likes.

3 IQ response. bonified sherbum.
15lbs is a massive gap. The biggest gap in MMA relatively speaking. That's why when talking about adding a new weight clas, 165lbs is always the first to come up.
There is a reason why nobody even came close to become LW and WW champion in the last 20 years of sport. Not in UFC, not even in Bellator or any other major org.

Anything can happen and Islam would have a chance. To pretend Leon would be an easir fight for him than Dustin shows -3 IQ

These guys said poirier is a much better grappler than leon. Can anyone in their right mind imagine poirier taking Usman down and taking his back? Poirier is a vet and solid all around, but so is Edwards at this point, and he's much bigger and he is still in his prime.

I don't understand how anyone could come to the conclusion that Edwards is an easier fight than poirier.

Yeah I agree the result of the Belal fight will give us more insight on how Leon might deal with Islam.
Not necessarily, Islam is a submission threat, Belal isn't.

Makhachev > Bobby Green > James Krause > Claudio Silva > Leon Edwards

I thought this before the Colby fight... That was a bad look for Leon IMO even though he comfortably won. Colby physically ain't much bigger than Islam at all either and while his cardio is better he is far less skilled and a significantly worse finisher. I don't know if Colby injury thing was true but is so it makes it look even worse for Leon

Honestly would expect Islam or Khamzat to beat Leon. Without the headkick, Usman and his regressed wrestling was almost enough. Maybe even Belal gets it done. Colby is washed, so I don't think his wrestling is dangerous anymore.

Alex went up to LHW and earned a title shot by beating Jan. Alex wasn't gifted a title shot at the higher weight class like Volk was, and Islam is wanting to get gifted a title shot at WW just the same. Alex and Islam wouldn't ever move up a weight class and have to earn a title shot like Alex did. Beating a top 5 guy in Jan isn't being gifted a title shot you goof. Keep opening your mouth and proving how much of a goof you is be.

Because he was no longer the champ, that's why he had to "earn" a titleshot. In what world do you earn a titleshot in a new division, with only one win ? <36>

A split decision stinker... Fuck off.

Stylistically, it's a touch for for Islam but I think therebis a path to victory for him. I wouldn’t get married to striking with Leon. I'd being a more Khabib like approach to that fight.

Yet these are two weightclasses where a lot of if not the most migrations occured to the higher one and they hapenned to be quite succesful. Some ex-LWs even fought for the title. Examples: Burns, Masvidal, Nate, BJ Penn, Dos Anjos
