Leon moves his feet well. I could see rounds pass by with him dancing around on the outside and Islam having trouble closing the gap... that would mean the fight might be an all-time stinker of a title fight, though.

He looked great and Colby is so much better wrestler than you think. You probably think Colby is one level better version of that Cuban Teakwondo guy
Islam and others from AKA mentioned in interviews that Leon once came over to train with them, and that supposedly Islam made easy work of him in sparring. Leon was asked about it one of the press-conferences too and he reservedly admitted something like "Yeah them Dagestanis are tough".
Regardless, I think Leon is actually one of the easier fights with top WWs for Islam. Burns and Shavkat would be tougher fights I believe.

there is always someone, but his case to go to WW would be strong as long as Belal doesn't throw a wrench into the equation

I honestly don't see how. What does he threaten Islam with? Dustin has real power. He has sneaky subs on the mat. What does Leon really have to threaten Islam with?

Leon is so inactive during fights, I could see Islam winning a close decision if he throws more & can pressure Leon with a well-rounded gameplan.
i think Islam's cardio will be even better at 170 lbs & we've seen Leon fade in the latter rounds vs Cerrone, Nate, & Colby.

This is literally the least anticipated title fight since... well, when?
Don't get me wrong, I respect their skills. But honestly to god, this is the least intriguing title fight I can ever recall.

I don't think they will fight to be honest, Islam will probably just wait until Belal loses.....and Belal will probably just go on epic run and win another 5-10 in a row, and Islam will be screwed and will have to go to 185.

They'll have to pair it with a very intriguing co-main to sell PPVs. It's a WMMA/flyweight level main event at a historically premier weight class.

Islam got clipped with a straight left from Dustin right on the chin in rd 4 and it didn’t even phase him. The chinny reputation he has is way overblown. He got clipped once, coukdve happened to anyone. And Leon couldn’t even finish Colby.
