Eddie Alvarez on MMA vs Boxing

Except it isn't right. It's completely out of touch with reality.

Eddie comes off as the typical butthurt insecure MMA goof who has to rationalize and justify the fact that they are in an inferior combat sports.

Anyone who uses the "more like real life" argument loses on the spot.

It's an arbitrary made up argument that completely falls apart when examined further.
Calling people names and talking like an 8th grade locker room smack talker is a totally loss of credibility, making you not even worth engaging in a discussion with.

Get the chip off your shoulder, you are doing what you accuse Eddie of doing.

"Real fighting" is a made up arbitrary argument.

Throughout history, wars were not fought and won by incels in their juijitsu gis, or towns and cities were taken and conquered by single leg takedowns, or hand to hand combats were won by how many kicks you can throw.

Real fighting has, and will always, involve the usage of weapons.

MMA has never been real fighting.

It is merely another discipline under the umbrella of combat sports.

"real fighting" is the ultimate form of incel copes from MMA rejects who didn't have the genetics to excel in boxing.

Simply visiting your local boxing gym and comparing it your nearest BJJ dojo would end this debate on the superiority of MMA. Boxing attracts disadvantaged kids from troubled neighbourhoods which have historically been the greatest athletes worldwide whereas MMA gyms are full of middle class redditors who listen to Joe Rogan and masturbate at the thought of beating up the jocks from their high school days.

The majority of boxers respect MMA as a different combat sport.

The only loud mouth losers talking shit about the other discipline has been insecure goofy suburbanite MMA incels talking trash about boxing and boxers.

The only losers with chips on their shoulders are MMA guys after seeing boxers make 100 million a fights or seeing their MMA world champs get knock out by Youtubers in boxing.

There's only one side with envy and jealousy in this argument. I'll let you figure out who.

Brutal and true.

MMA gyms are full of wannabe fighters who romanticize fighting and are narcissistically in love with the idea of being "the ultimate warrior, bro!" Mix martial arts is a way for them to cope with how easy and sheltered their lives are. It's merely a hobby.

MMA gyms are literally full of wannabes and try hards.

Go to a boxing gym, or a thaiboxing gym, and it's full of poverty stricken, poor 3rd world kids who come from troubled background trying to survive day to day and boxing is their way out of all this.

The two demographics aren't even the same.

The BobFather said it the best.

If you spend anytime on a grappling/BJJ forum or in a dojo you will notice a reoccurring theme. Physically weak and frail men fantasizing about using their grappling "skills" to subdue an otherwise more robust and physically imposing male. This inferiority complex only exists within MMA and there is nothing similar in the boxing world. Eddie's mental breakdown is just the most recent example of this.

I don’t think any boxers actually think their two hands beats 4 limbs and grappling though.

It seems only MMA fans always need to point out that boxers are overmatched in an MMA fight, which really, needs no pointing out.
I've seen a lot of people say this, it does need pointing out occasionally, not everyone understands

Even people on this thread have disputed it

I, too, have made this observation about bjj guys.

Frail, framelet, balding, manlets are all common physical traits.

No doubt these traits cross over to MMA.

Boxing is full of alpha male culture that draws from machismo latin culture, inner city poor black hoods, war torn Eastern Europeans places, and poverty stricken South Asian countries. Just all around hard people.

It's hilarious you made an account just for this thread lol, I guess you were too scared to post all this troll shit on your normal account

No, I was a lurker and simply had enough of the stupid low IQ MMA fanboy takes. The mods can confirm through IP address that this is not an alt. This is literally my first account on sherdog.

And judging by the fact that you have no counter point to any of my posts, and resort to calling my account into question tells me I've completely destroyed this thread and this terrible "real fighting" narrative you low IQ MMA guys like to run with.

I didn't read any of your posts lol, I skimmed one and you were talking about Boxers being hardened and from 3rd world countries or some shit

If you actually aren't trolling, get help

This is the same point 100 other people have made lol, I've already responded to it and the other three points everyone makes multiple times

Pretending like real life self defense scenarios never happen without weapons is dumb lol. Just an excuse to not know how to fight

Ah, the classic "I didn't even read, bro" after thoroughly having your narrative taken apart and destroyed.

tl;dr for low IQ MMA meat head: boxing is the far superior combat sport due to far larger talent pool which results in far superior athletes and fighters on PURELY GENETIC level.

cliffs of cliffs:

MMA is for genetic trash incels, high school teachers, NFL rejects, plumbers, WWE wrestlers, and mall cops.

Ryan Hall is the epitome of this phenomena. A physically weak guy with zero natural athleticism or warrior spirit, admittedly couldn't even make varsity teams. Takes up BJJ in his mid 20's and is the best in the world. He then uses these "skills" to win a few MMA games against low level street brawlers and now has countless videos dedicated to his "appearance" and how he "gamed" the system with BJJ. Which in their mind is the ultimate equalizer. They want to believe that genetics and natural disposition can be overcome by hours spent on the mat.

"3 Minutes of Ryan Hall Taking Limbs Home All While Looking Like an Accountant Who Regrets his Career"

If you read through the comments 90% of the guys with avatars look like Ryan Hall and no doubt in their mind think they're some bad ass <Lmaoo><Lmaoo><Lmaoo><Lmaoo>

I don't think anyone is demeaning those sports, most MMA fighters were a part of one of those sports before MMA, but MMA should always have that respect
Looking at the sample size of these boards
MMA is actually the most disrespected sport out of all combat sports which are discussed over here. Specially by boxing purists who also follow MMA
I agree with your sentiment, but its unfortunate that MMA fans find it hard to put respect against MMA's athletes

Very well said, it's really weird how many people on here obviously pay way more attention to, and are bigger fans of MMA, yet totally disrespect the athletes and sport

@Ares Black made a good point saying maybe it's a self-hate thing, I don't know, I don't get the psychology of it
