I love how once it's over people cheer like they having fun. But during the quake everyone looking around wondering if it's going to get stronger.

When I was a kid the one I remember the most is the Landers/ Big Bear double header quake.

I woke up to go take a piss in the middle of the night when I got back to bed and felt the slow rolling motion and then it just kick in and the whole house was shaking violently. I look out the window and the sky was a light show from the transformers blowing up. At the time I kept thinking San Onofre power plant had blown up.
Then after I was in the living room waiting for the power to comeback on when the Big Bear quake hit and dove under the kitchen table.

I think the northridge quake was the same intensity except it was centered right under a populated area. I felt this one but I was on a concrete slab and the shaking didn't seem as bad. I'm in LA. Got home and everything is in order.

Maybe I should get earthquake insurance.
It's like 2x what you pay in property tax. It would be like 20k a year for me.

I felt it this time in the central valley. Felt like a 3-4 to me.

Way back in 2002 I was stationed at Fort Irwin and got sent to China Lake with my Recovery Team (as in big ass tow trucks and tow tanks) to essentially clear up and place old vehicles out there for them to bomb. It was cool.
I wonder if they were bombing stuff on the fourth of July and used the holiday as cover to avoid any suspicion of testing?

weird. didnt feel anything in Florida.
Glad to hear that,<45> my young nephew is there with my sister and her husband, they intended to go to visit friends in the LA area, but that got put back to later in the year, maybe no LA left by then... the big one LOOMS large....stay safe people
